My point was: is this really worth it? I'd say nope. I can drink other BA stouts and still really enjoy them. This beer? Sure it's great. But, Not. Worth. The. Trouble.

Yea, except I've seen this same thread for many years and knew the prices would increase this year to absurd levels.

 

Went to a few stores around Putnam today, nothing has arrived yet, likely next week. One beer guy told me he was only getting 4 bottles of BW, no other variants. I can't believe MA has gotten second shipments already, and CT is getting partial cases.

 

It's just a matter of knowing which stores won't gouge. That's always the case with yearly releases.

 

No he couldn't get any until the 4th of December either.

Any ideas on what can be done so CT gets the same respect and distribution as NY and MA next year?

 

CT is just a smaller market, and therefore a lesser distribution priority. RI, being even smaller, only got BCBS and BCBBW, while CT at least received a small amount of Coffee and Rye (although Rye may have only gone to Total Wine).

 

Our store got:
1 case of Stout
1 case of BW
2 bottles of Regal Rye

Based on cost, prices should be $9.99, $11.99, and $22.99 respectively. Don't get gouged; I was told by a customer that CT Bev Mart in Middletown was trying to get $25 for the stout.

 

For anyone looking for the BW, the Lisbon Package Store had 4 bottles left as of 11am this morning at $12.99 each. I bought two and left two more for someone else. They didn't have any of the regular or regal though. Hope they're still there for one of you, good luck!

Curious that when a store gets such low amounts, don't the employees just buy it or does it have to be sold to customers? Seems like those 2 Regals would be gone before they hit the shelf.

 

I'm sure sometimes those low quantity items get scooped up by employees. I just grabbed two stouts for myself and a barleywine for a friend. I usually pass on things like SoS and the like because I don't have it in me to tell the customer we're sold out when he/she could have had the 4pk I bought. Regal Rye sounded pretty gross anyway, IMO.

We were lucky to get any Rye at all. Our distributor only got 6 cases for their entire territory.

 

Any ideas when it is coming to Hartford County? Haven't seen any in the South Windsor area yet.

Anyone get any at Bevmax in Stamford? I've been going to this store for 2 years now just to buy my regular drinking beers and I usually get BC there too. This year was a different story though... I walked in, looked around, grabbed a pack of Hag and saw one of the guys who works there roll in 4 cases of BC. So I then went up to the counter where they keep everything special behind and the same guy was there. So I asked him for some BC and he just goes NO. Not here. LOL! I don't get it... This shit was on shelf there last year. HAHA! Anyway I'll take my business else where...

 

Yeah I'm also a regular there and got a boatload of attitude when asking about it. I'm sure it gets irritating for the folks that work there but they're increasingly developing an unnecessary attitude, similar situation with GB/SoS at BevMax.
