My buddy called yesterday at open and they were sold out. Weren't many people there when I got there at noon on Saturday so it was either a small bottle count or a lot of people showed up later in the day.

Opened a bottle on Saturday. The coffee flavor is way over the top on this one. Either a very good or bad thing depending on your tastes.

Split a bottle with the RB group on Sunday afternoon. I actually found the fruitiness of the Ethiopian coffee to be a little distracting. Like many other of their whiskey barrel stuff... there wasn't much barrel either. Overall it was fine, though I may have liked Figure 8 with Coffee and Vanilla more. Maybe if they changed up the coffee bean to something a little more robust it would be a home run.

Not meaning to troll here. But does anybody else find GBS and Bourbon GBS to be horrible? I love imperial stouts, bourbon stouts, and even spicy stouts (Stone Xocoveza=yum). But I find something horribly cloying about GBS. I'm not a fan of gingerbread cookies, so I can only guess it's the ginger.

You aren't alone. I find it too sweet. However the coffee version, Christmas Morning?, is very good!

Agreed, a tiny sip from a sampler cup was all I'll ever need. Don't understand the attraction of things like this though, so it's nothing personal against GBS.

The first time I had Bourbon GBS was one of my 'Aha' moments in craft beer. Like the first time I had a Bourbon County, or a New Glarus Belgian Red or a Trillium double dry-hopped IPA. It was an explosion of flavor unparalleled in a beer before. It is in my all-time top five. I think it may be that cloying ginger that lingers that I love the most about it. Drinking it is like drinking a fluffy marshmallow cloud. But if you don't like ginger or milk stouts loaded with lactose I can definitely see why you may not like it.

Whole Foods Fair Lakes has Double Duckpin cans on the shelf. Four or five packs were still there during lunch time.

I'm getting a bunch of bottles directly from the Alpine brewery here shortly. This will be the first time I've had real Alpine since the Green Flash buyout, so I'm really curious to see how these are. The Green Flash-brewed stuff has been tremendously disappointing, but I went to the Alpine brewery last year when I was on a work trip to San Diego and drank (and brought home) some of the best beers I've ever had. Hopefully this stuff is on par with those beers!

In DC for work and hit up a couple liquor stores to see if they have anything interesting. Struck out on beer, but impulse bought a bottle of Van Winkle 10 year, having a little buyers remorse at the moment for spending $$$ on it but I'd never find a bottle in NYC

You would have zero problem selling that bottle if you wanted to.
