Whoa, welcome to the internet young padawon. And really you did the most bashing on this thread. The worst anyone said about TH was traffic and lines, pretty basic complaints that all popular breweries deal with. You however knocked Trillium for not having enough coffee beers.... And no one is making their decision of their favorite on those things. I'm in SW CT so if I based my opinion on ease of acquiring then I would be pretty limited.

Young panowan.... Lol I was tickin when you were in elementary school buddy. Trillium fan boys like to complain about how Treehouse beers are two fresh, lines too long, creative math for pricing. It's bs. I love trillium. It's a fact that Treehouse does better coffee beers.

Lol touché on Star Wars knowledge. But Trillium is still better

See now that is an opinion... You are entitled to that. But some of these Trillium fan boys like to tear down Treehouse by making shit up.

First off... If you do a bit of planning Trillium lines aren't bad. I go Thursday after work, or any weekday afterwork for that matter, and typically I can be in and out in 5 min for cans only and 20 minutes if I am picking up growlers. I would spend more time sitting in rush hour traffic from Boston, if I made it to Treehouse before close at all. Yes Trillium can be busy when hot ticks are on "Headroom or Artaic" but what world class brewery isn't? I have seen ludicrous lines at Treehouse for special releases too. Trillium is also more popular gentlemen. They sell out cause there product is amazing. And they do that in an area where almost everyone is a commuter or tourist and nobody is really local. They care about there customers and the staff at Trillium is consistently killing it.

Oh and when has Treehouse been open for Monday or Tuesdays? Not in the last 2 years... lol. Bottles and Growlers Wednesday. Growlers and Bottles Thursday-Saturday. Been that way for a while now (Monday and Tuesday hours is a recent add, as is the new facility).

What wild or saison does Treehouse do BTW?

I love Treehouse. Awesome brewery great people. But I can love more than one local brewery with out bashing another for no real reason.

Oh and driving to central MA is a ludicrous suggestion. lol

Dunno about that. The most recent releases of PM Dawn and Coffee Pot & Kettle were pretty stellar for me. Compared to the Double Shots I've had I wouldn't really put one over the other.

Was in and out with 8 growers at Hiill Farmstead in under 20 mins the Friday before Thanksgiving. had Double Galaxy and Abner on tap for fills, would say both are world class.

That new tap room is a breeze

Sidenote: Calling either of these breweries world class just seems odd to me. They mainly just brew IPAs and Stouts. They branch out a little (trillium, probably more, based on beer listings) but they stick to the trends. Both are dominating the categories but a world class brewery should have more substance IMO.

I think Taras Boulba is a world class beer. It has an 88 here - go figure

world class is as lame a phrase as mouthfeel but without any of the utility of the latter

World class is a bad phrase, but that doesn't mean these ones aren't. Just because the brewers may not have a taste for sours, saisons or whatever (and you could argue sours and BA anything are the new trend), doesn't mean they are lesser than others with a big portfolio. Most brewers do many kinds of beer at mediocre levels. I would rather have a few specialized breweries who master their craft. Trillium for hops, OEC for sours, HF for saisons and so forth.... Also you don't consider Cantillon a world class brewery?

I don't understand the comment. They brew the most popular styles as well as anyone on earth, and in several versions of those styles in each case. That's world class. Treehouse "Bear" is the best Brown Ale I've ever had by the way. Pilsner Urquell, which I don't even like, brews one thing...and is considered "world class". Cantillon doesn't have much variety, less than Treehouse for sure. None of the major Belgian breweries make more than a few beers. The Germans make more styles, but most of them are good at 2-3 styles and flub the others. So who exactly is World Class? Sierra Nevada because they make dozens of styles even though none of the beers they make in the style Treehouse or Trillium makes are even close to as good?

I wouldn't say "Trillium has ruined me . . ." cause I think that's too specific. What I will say is the New England IPA has ruined me. I've just developed such a taste for it, nothing else really interests me anymore. I remember a couple years ago thinking I needed to traverse through hell and high water to try a KRV Citra and now it's more like, "eh, whatever." As I travel around trying beers I have this pervading feeling that I'm going to be let down.

I can honestly, say the only two hoppy beers I've had outside of NE that I'd go back for again have been Psuedo Sue (not the contract brewed version) from TG and Todd the Axeman from Surly.

Should probably add Other Half to this too - but I mean, geographically close enough, right.

Agree with all of this, I'd also add that the hoppy beers Grimm are cranking out right now are fantastic and modeled on the NE style.

Or walk 5 minutes from the busiest bus and train station in New England? People who complain about parking in Boston are annoying. Trillium is super convenient for the 100,000+ people who live or work near downtown. Rural breweries are convenient for almost no one.

Summer Street, always and forever, people. Park on the bridge and walk down the stairs to A Street.

:astonished: before Trillium it was HF, before HF there was Heady, before Heady there was Pliny, before Pliny there was…well you get my gist. Evolution of a style and it just keeps getting better everyday. Cheers to JC & crew for producing some of the best out there…just had a Mettle vs. Heavy Mettle taste-off, so hard to choose a winner cause of how awesome both are.

Can't say that Trillium "has ruined me" but my proximity has made me a regular over the last 2 years, and I love many of their beers. Constantly try new beers and keep some regulars in the fridge too though.

I don't understand the convenience complaints either. I park on Summer Street and walk down A Street stairs and have never not found a meter, weekdays or weekends. Not a fan of lines for beer, so I go when it's quieter.

Total parking cost per visit is about $1.00

Depends on what 'world class' even means. If you want to compare a new-ish brewery to an industry trailblazer or the poster child for a style of beer then go ahead. The hazy, juicy IPA wasn't something TH or Trillium created either. Maybe they went the farthest with it. Your post probably has as much meaning as mine, which is about nothing.

    Taras Boulba is world class...

All I know is that a bunch of serious international tickers from Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden I know well all are freaking out over Treehouse. If that is not world class I don't know what is.
