I have to throw another one in for The Broken Truck. I tasted this one side by side with 3F OGV 08 and I was totally amazed at , well, how similar they were. I liked how the flavors in Broken Truck were a bit more aggressive, while some people would probably prefer the softness of the OGV.

Honorable mentions to Imperial Purple Raz, Vin Rougie and The Duo.

I loved Cornelio Nunez and Mulligan. Too bad people are obsessed with throwing fruit in beers so they'll probably never be made again.

Biere rose was one of my favorites. Also batch 1 stone bu (which is still drinking great) and imperial black raz were right in my wheelhouse.

This is a tough choice, but I'd say Beaucoup Violet is my all-time favorite, barely beating out Broken Truck. Both absolutely fantastic.

I'm heading to De Garde around New Years week and can't wait as this has been on my bucket list for a while. They sell their bottles at the brewery I assume? Do they always have a lot in stock?

They don't always have a lot of to-go bottles, and is something you should check the Facebook for before making the drive. Best time is a quarterly release or the week after.

I know you're looking for bottles to take with you, but they have impressive bottles for on-premises drinking too.

Good to know, thanks. Buying a few bottles to take with me would be awesome, but really I am most forward to just going there and trying a few beers. My wife thinks I planned our Cannon Beach trip just so I can have an excuse to go to De Garde. Turns out she is right! :grinning:

I won't say The Broken Truck because I only had about an ounce (which was amazing), so instead I'll say Nectarine Premiere.

    -Apricot Gose

I'm under the impression that now that the Keepers stuff is done with they won't be hosting quarterly release parties, so I would assume they're just going to start putting out bottles when they're ready rather than holding a bunch for parties.

I hope thats not what happens. Not many people live that close to De Garde. Portland is still 1.5 hours each way, so I don't think many will be popping in for two beers being released on a random Saturday. As a Seattlite, making the 4-5 hour one-way journey is probably something I wouldn't do again even though I love De Garde. I was never a member of the Keeper's, but I still had enough incentive to go to several parties and once the week after a party since 6-8 beers were being released (and the parties are badass even without the bottle sales).

IIRC (and I may not as I had a couple Plinys at Twist beforehand), when I was there Thanksgiving weekend, Sierra said they weren't having another party until May.

That mirrors what I heard. They'll still have parties, but they will only be "a couple times per year" or something.
