Downingtown/Center city Philly here. Dtown/Thorndale ppl we should get together. @Scoats is right there used to be a tighter scene years ago.

I guess your right Scoats; it's certainly a lot quieter BA Philly crew! Anyhow, still enjoying beer scene in the Chester County area and travelling the rails to local destinations and occasional trips to Philly.

There should be like a BA get together somewhere like Tired Hands so we can start to build up that beer community again.

Manayunk checking in... work down in Center City though. I just got an actual shelf to store all of my beers I have been sitting on for a few years. Pretty new to the actual cellaring game and the recent sub to The Bruery definitely will add to the collection nicely.

 

Port fishington here. I work in Radnor, so tired hands is conveniently in between work and home. Memphis taproom is a short walk from home. Always game for a meet up.

I think the proliferation of great breweries and beer bars throughout the area over the last decade has led to more fragmentation of beer lovers and BAs. In Chester County 15 years ago, there was Victory, Sly Fox, Drafting Room, Iron Hill (which was just starting to move beyond the basic lineup), Flying Pig and not much else. Now we have all those places plus McKenzie's, TJ's, Station Taproom, Pour House, Side Bar, Teresa's (Delco but barely), Craft Ale House, Hidden River and so on.

We'd think nothing of driving 45 minutes plus to Grey Lodge or Gen. Lafayette or even Lancaster Brewing back then because that's where the beer was. Now I am lazy and entitled {and not even a millenial! :-) } and I don't have to. And I cannot support them all anyway.

But the events seems as crowded or more crowded than ever. I just don't know everybody anymore (sometimes I don't know anyone)...

 

Been a while since I've been to the Grey Lodge.
