What beer are you drinking now? #1145

Starting today with the second beer from my first online order, and OMG is it GREAT
Firestone Walker - Union Jack IPA (4.59). You west coast BAs are blessed with this brewery.

Great beer and Florence!!!! Have seen her 3 times and she is amazing.

 

This is a good Brew. It did have a balanced view of Hops and Malts with a Dry vibe. Very refreshing and enjoyable.

Today Red Rocks released their Furlong Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout and I couldn't miss it! Showed up right before doors opened and there was a sizable line, beer is alive and well in Salt Lake City contrary to what you may have heard. Anyway I picked up my six bottles. So I had to try one when I got home of course. It's good pretty smooth, not sure how long it aged (check that: says it aged a year) No real hints of chocolate and coffee on my pallet like the label says, I taste more of a roasted caramel taste and the bourbon is not in your face.

So this brew has shot up to my second favorite stout from Utah, behind Big Bad Baptist and that's saying a lot.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN, BROTHER!!

 

I like my beer (too much) but have a hard time starting in the morning even when I was young and thought I could handle anything. I admire these folks. They apparently have a stronger constitution than me. Usually, it is around 3:00 when beer starts to permeate my every other thought.

My dad would drink in the morning. I am talking about 6:00 A.M. He was a fireman and worked 24 hour shifts. One day on, the next day off so his internal clock must have accommodated the practice. He may have started early but finished when most folks are ready for happy hour.

 

Enjoying this great beer on a rare 50 degree December day in Indiana!
