Me too @SteveB24, although I've been enjoying some nice solo candle lit sessions these past three nights:

On the first night of Chanukah, my wallet gave to me: one St. Bernardus 12
On the second night of Chanukah my wallet gave to me: one Surly Furious, and one Sierra Nevada Torpedo
On the third night of Chanukah my wallet gave to me: one Other Half Topaz, one BCBCS, and one sip of 2012 BCBS!

    Chanukah Sameach!

Heck yeah. Plus, it won't cost an arm and a leg to do it.

Mainly because I have not heard much at all about any beer from Poland... given how much we hear about beer from its two neighbors (Germany and Czech Republic) I'd have thought I'd know more about beer from there. That's all I was saying.

I'm going to see if my local bottle shop has one of the ones that has been mentioned here... just to try it and see.

If your bottle shop has a decent selection of imports, it might have a Polish section. Polish beer is also easily found in neighborhoods with a Polish population (naturally). If you are limited to American options, the Harpoon beer is no longer produced. American Grodziskie are rare (I don't know if Polish ones even exist now), but Off Color just released one called "15 Feet." Have fun.

EDIT: There's a lot of interesting articles and blog posts on the web about the history of Grodziskie, and it's other name - Gratzer.

If I can add, perhaps my original post read more confrontational than intended... I was going for helpful.

No problem... I took it as helpful. Although the triple question marks did make me wonder! :grinning:

so its already the 4th night, but i must say that I'm thoroughly enjoying these 8 crazzzzzy nights!

The very tasty and new Brooklyn Isulated black lager.
It feels really comfortable on this dark winter night and a nice schwarzbier totally compliments the short days.
(extra 10 points for me since its also kosher certified)

What are you drinking with this fourth candle fellow advocates of beer?
    Lcahim!

Night the 4th. Long morning of exposure test at the kidlets allergist.
Tonight started with a Sprang from Trillium. Sacrificed a second Sprang used to cook brats & onions for dinner. Absolute deliciousness alongside mashed turnips.

Enjoying a '13 BCBS by the fire currently. Glad it is only 12 oz. L'chiam!

P.S. love all the dead talk! Was just a few years too young but caught the bug at a JCC overnight camp as a young teen & now my closest friends in life are Jewish deadheads, phish phans, & moe.rons! Always have noted a thread of like mind tribes people into the music, drinks, and other *recreational* activities  funny how that works..

First one of these. So good. If this doesn't say Mexican Hannukah, I don't know what does. Cheers!

Awesome seeing the Chanukah beer celebrations. I'm a secular agnostic so I celebrate Christmas just because I grew up with it, but we may do Chanukah also next year. Why not?
