That's pretty much the story. When they tasted it the first time it hadn't soured enough so they left it alone for a few more months and only bottled it when it was to their liking. Took about a year from brewing to being loaded onto the delivery van. Gotta love a brewery with standards as high as Jester King's.

    And infinite storage vessels?

Doesn't matter. Like I said, time is money. Anytime you aren't selling a product, you're losing money.

Are we really complaining about this costing $3 more than Le Petite? I would've paid $12 without question for Bonnie. Sure Hester king has somewhat high pricing, but if it's not worth it to you don't buy. It's pretty simple.

It is a bit silly that the Whiskey Rodeo is more expensive than BCBS, King Henry, Dark Lord, Hanu, and Darkness.

Maybe with low quantities it's a bonafied whale. Although not as tasty. lol

Huna and Darkness are $20. Goose Island is actually well priced except for their sours. With how King Henry is trading, GI coulda sold it for twice as much and it would've still sold. If it sells, its reasonably priced. Whiskey rodeo has sold out immediately wherever it had been sold. Must be priced ok.

Darkness, DL, and Hunah aren't -bals. 1/2 of the Darkness goes through distributors, the other 2 don't. And GI does have the economies of scale working in their favor. Also the weasel shit is apparently really expensive. So I don't think it really seems silly.

Now someone trade me one please!

Barrel aged or not, my point was every beer I listed is better than Whiskey Rodeo. I think people are buying this like crazy because they think it's going to be a whale and they can make money more than anything. It's the same thing that happened with Whiskey Pecan Porter.

That said, Whiskey Rodeo is a tasty beer and I did buy a couple. I just think hoarding has made this beer a bit over-hyped.

PS - I was mistaken about Huna and Darkness prices. I'd still buy them at $20 in a heartbeat.

I thought Darkness was $30? At 20$ I'd buy the shit out of it.
