Glad to see them do the right thing in the BPT thingy. Now maybe the Blendery will follow suit.

I'm not holding my breath on the Blendery. Beachwood's always fine with lines and crowds for releases for years. Not sure they'd suddenly reverse course.

As time goes by it will get busier and busier with each new release. The bottle releases are probably average releases now. But when they start releasing the good stuff then it will change. It happened for Smog, Alpine, Kern, etc. I went to the Cuddlebug release and got my 3 bottles towards the end. Had to wait in line for what? 3 bottles I ended up trading for east coast stuff. And each release comes newbies looking for the latest and greatest. I agree the Blendery did it right by giving out tickets and donuts. But I promise it will get bigger in the near future. I smell good things coming out of there.

I don't think the Cuddlebug release was bad at all. I got in line about 10 and was about 50th person in line. Got my 4 bottles at about 12:10 and then went inside and drank.
That being said, if they do Infinite Wishes b2 on BPT, I'll be very, very happy. That release will be a shit storm.

@LauriePorter any more news on your satellite tasting room location in the LB area? 2016?

@dcgunman , it's slated for Opening Spring 2016. The bulk of the information available is already out there...nothing new to reveal. It's a satellite taproom for us, so approx 15 taps, growler fills, bottle and merch sales...and the benefit of food vendors to enjoy. I wrote a blog about it a little while back that answers most questions, I think. Anything in particular you'd like to know? -L

Anyone getting "This Sour Future" they're releasing?

Sounds promising, might just get 2 bottles since they never disappoint.

I've never tried Smog City. I do see them around in the bottle shops I buy from. I've always wanted to try their Coffee Porter, I need to get to it.

Yep, picked up 4 through BPT on release day. Looking forward to Saturday. I have no reason to believe Smog City won't knock this one out of the park.

As someone who waited in line for Cuddlebug, thank you so much for the BPT release. The guy describing his line experience as awesome still waited 2 hours in line. The tasting room was so crazy busy you couldn't even go in and get a taste of the beer. With a BPT release it will be staggered and I can enjoy my trip to Smog, pick up my bottles, drink a few beers in the tasting room and get the whole experience. With Cuddlebug, I got my beers, drove off and drank beers in OC because it was too damned crowded to enjoy Smog. That ain't cool.

If you feel that Modern Times Black House doesn't have enough coffee, then Coffee Porter will deliver.

And that's my opinion of course.

Yeah I had the same experience with Bourbon O.E released, not really an enjoyable environment. So what I did for Cuddlebug was to show up later and purchase them. There was no problem, since bottles were still left over.

The good thing about this release is that it's not a first come first serve bases. Just checkout online and pick it up by Sunday. Much more convenient.

I've grown to really like Smog City. Thought Saber Toothed Squirrel was great, but my fave so far has been Saison Contraire. Have a Steamfunk Brett sitting in the fridge now...

That would be me. I waited 2 hours in line, talking to other people who love beer and got to sip on beers I've never tried before. Got my 4 beer allotment and went inside, sat down, drank beer and chopped it up with two girls who had driven down from Fresno to buy Cuddlebug. It was a fun day. Sorry your experience wasn't.
