Completely agree. Coffee just needs to be renamed Green Pepper Bourbon County Stout.

I've had regular, coffee, regal and barleywine so far, and coffee has been the best in my opinion. No off flavors, just a nice coffee presence that integrated well with the base.

But hey, ya know, that whole opinions and assholes thing.. Really subjective

How is it that the "release" city gets everything a couple weeks later than Austin?

There was no "release" city. Each major market (DFW, Austin and Houston) had a flagship release location.

Each city also is serviced by different distributors.

Everyone has been asking and I haven't been able to get info, so I did some pestering. It sounds like distributor should receive next week and then figure out what they're doing with what they've got. My guess is you'll see it later next week or the following.

Keep you posted to what I hear.

it just depends how your palate is geared, its either going to be great, bitter, roasty, coffee or green pepper. i liked coffee, as i tasted the former, but it was the weakest as compared to the rest. coffee in the past years has been nothing short of amazing. it really seems like the variants missed the mark this year.

I can agree on Regal, didn't really hit it for me. Haven't tried Prop yet. And as always.. Barleywine is a hero who gets little credit

I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine seeing several times on promos that Houston would be a "release city" getting the treatment this year that dallas got last year. I'm pretty sure im not alone here either. But... We're ALWAYS 2-6 weeks later than Austin and Dallas for EVERYTHING, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised.

I would say that "release city" went out the window the moment they didn't get label approvals for anything in time for the actual release events. Austin's official release location (HEB Mueller) didn't get Regal at all. It all went to Spec's and somehow at least one Whole Foods got a single case.

Squigz, I saw an internal Goose Island document and can confirm that Dallas, Austin, and Houston all had official launch events.

Also, quit the whining about us being so far behind. Austin has released their variants, but Dallas has t yet. We may even be ahead of them. Be patient and quit being so whiny. We'll get it next week.
