    At events like this, are beers sold at original retail value, or hiked up since the supply/demand curve has shifted?

    Original retail value, basically. They offered their normal 10% discount if you bought 6 or more bottles. My cherry rye was $25 before discount and tax. Very very happy. Loved the event.

    Some was retail but not bcbs. 4 pack of 2012 bcbs was 27$ which is about double retail was in the day. 12oz bottles of bcbs were 7.99 which was a decent amount over retail. If you consider cellar time and stuff I guess it's all gravy tho.

    I've never seen bcbs at less than $6/12oz bottle so the markup of $1/bottle for the 2012 4 pack was definitely palatable.
    I also picked up 2010 bells expedition and third coast olde ale for $5/bottle which is about a 50%markup. But I'm clearly a huge bells fanboy so I didn't mind too much.

    Yeah, Vanilla Rye was $25 before tax and discount as well.

    I would have been happy to purchase it at double that considering I never found any on a MN shelf in the past year. It's not like Ed was marking them up to secondary and making a killing, even if some things were above retail price.
