Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Perennial is wholesaled by a small/boutique wine importer, I believe they only sell wines they have sourced/imported, and then they have a couple beers. They definitely only send Abraxas to accounts that support the brand year round. I'd imagine supporting all 3 year rounds and taking a case or two of every monthly release earns you 1 abraxas case, and I can't imagine any independent shops really moving more Perrenial than that, considering the price point.

 

Sidamo on tap at Dominion. I personally find this one to be waayyyy better than GBS.

 

Wasn't on when we swung by there this afternoon.

 

I passed through St Louis about a week after Abraxas was released and to my shock the beer is as limited there as here. One or two cases a store with one bottle limits and selling out within the day. I was kinda shocked at how poorly Perennial's hometown gets treated on this one.

 

Anyone know when/where the Avery vanilla bean stout is going be release in the DMV? Released out in CO today, didnt know if anyone had a pulse on when that was coming this way.

 

Locals could buy a ticket good for 2 bottles of regular ab and 1 coffee

 

I went by about 3pm on Saturday and there were still plenty left; 45+ I'd say. Seems like this wasn't as popular a release as some of the others. That said, did anyone try a bottle? I'm curious to know how it was. Also, has anyone laid a Bluejacket beer down for an extended time? I am iffy on whether their stuff has the structure to age well.

 

I laid one of their sours (Wallflower maybe??) down after deciding it was worth a purchase over the summer . Few and far between for their beers. After about three months I opened it. It wasn't even close to the same beer. Not even sour. So who knows if what I bought was actually Wallfower. In other words YMMV.

 

Yo! Yes, I do have the info for you. It is shipping from Boulder on Wednesday the 16th. Should arrive on Friday and start hitting shops on the 21st. I cannot wait to get my paws on it.

 

Hardywood Christmas Morning at Norm's. 1 case left.

 

And Arrowine just received a couple of cases. But haven't heard of anywhere else.

 

Norm's is sold out of Christmas Morning. I think Dominion received some also, but not sure if they still have any.

 

Out at Arrowine in under an hour. I'm amazed at the masses clamoring over this.

 

12 pp at the hardywood release too...don't know if they sold out but still that is a huge limit

 

Things have been a bit wacky there lately. Didn't they recently get a new beer guy?

 

Any TW, WF's or TJ's get Christmas Morning? The Alexandria TJ's didn't have any, but they did have some BGBS.

 

TJoes usually gets the Hardywood releases a day or two after the bottle shops. The truck makes various runs.

 

Kysela, I also learned that all their accounts asked for in the neighborhood of 284 cases of Abraxas in the area, what Kysela got was much, much less, less than half of what they asked for was received. It's slated to hit other stores in the area this week is my understanding.

 

dammit. it was tuesday last week for bb gbs. why do they have to go and change the MO?

 

WF Fair Lakes got it, but it's already sold out. I saw it was getting low and just grabbed one.
