To be honest, I did notice that the can I cracked last night had a somewhat lower amount of carbonation, but it didn't affect the taste for me. Plus, it looks like pineapple juice so I wouldn't expect any carbonation after seeing it in my glass. :grinning:

I've seen at least one mention of "spicy" here, is that a typical characteristic of a beer with Nelson Sauvin hops?

Just curious because when drinking it I couldn't tell if my lips were actually tingling a little or if I was crazy.

I found this description and don't notice any "spicy" mentions in it:
Nelson Sauvin, named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is a variety of hop developed and grown in New Zealand. It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some reviewers of this hop perceive the fruitiness as being very tropical with descriptions including passion fruit, tangerines, and grapefruit. The distinctive character of these hops limit its aroma/flavor usage to American ales and specialty beers. As a bittering hop, its low cohumulone content imparts a very smooth bitterness.

I did find this summary of Nelson from Northern Brewer which note spiciness:

"Nelson Sauvin hops bear the name of their closest aroma descriptor, Sauvignon Blanc grapes - "crushed gooseberry" is the term most commonly used. Alpha acids in the low double digits mean they are a great dual-purpose hop, with low cohumulone, good oil content, and an overall uniqueness that is taking many brewers by surprise. Underlying notes of distinctive New Zealand spiciness: black pepper, mace, and allspice are common."

    And this note from Hopunion:

"An excellent dual purpose hop that can be used to produce a punch or subtle bittering qualities"

It's easily the most bitter Nelson single hopped DIPA I've had so far which is surprising for Hoof.

Was at Dragonsaddle release and got there at 11:20. Still missed out
on bottles by about 50 people. If you really want bottles need to be there by 11am no later to be safe. Of course Dragonsaddle was their biggest release.

Do to family commitments I probably couldn't make it up there until 2 or so tomorrow. Is the expectation that the KD will be gone by then? I thought I read somewhere that last weeks release didn't sell out so is like to think tomorrow shouldn't either?
