Zombie Dust & Daisey Cutter are the two best but hard as hell to get.
To me the clear winner is Victory Headwaters. 5.1% ABV, $7.99 a six. All hops.
Used to like Dales and Alpha King but now they are a bit too malty for me.

Zombie Dust might be the best damn pale ale I've ever had. Also, Hair of the Dog Ruth, Lagunitas Dogtown Pale Ale, and Ballast Point Pale Ale are delicious. Cheers!

ZD is amazing, but I put that one up against other IPA's not APA's. The brewer calls it an APA, but for anyone who's had it knows it ain't so, but whatever they call it it is sensational, and not really all that expensive.

Red Chair and Alpha King of those I have had. Never had a Zombie Dust yet however.

I think both of the above certainly come close to the IPA arena. I don't think SNPA does however.

"Founders All Day IPA, if it makes it there, it is around 5% and has a great fresh hoppy flavor. It has become a new favorite for me."

Troegs Perpetual, while delicious, is an IPA. So is Founder's All Day. The OP was looking for APAs.

And BTW, Levitation is an Amber/Red, not an APA.

Little Hump from Highland clocks in at only 4.5%, but is bursting with fresh hop flavor. Well worth seeking out when it's released in the spring.

I always liked Stone's version. Hop forward, but it's not trying to be an IPA. I'm still pissed that it's not avalilable here anymore.
