To the OP, while I agree with your once in awhile style choice of amber/red ales, I only have one. Panama Limited. Unfortunately, it varies per the new brewmaster on site each year.

    Browns, Stouts and tripel

60% of what i drink is IPAs

The rest is various lagers (vienna, Schwartz, euro pale)

Which are all incredibly drinkable so every now and then i get a big stout or tripel and take my time on a bomber which is perfect for that single craving for the style.

RIS, too sweet and boozy. A 4 pack per year and I'm good.

IPA'S very few meet my taste buds correctly but tonight I am enjoying a Noble Ale Works Citra Showers my favorite local IPA and IMHO it is world class.

Duvel for me, though I did buy all the Dupont Cervesia (known as 'Posca Rustica' on BA) I could after reviewing it recently and now I have x3 750ml bottles in my cellar for a very special occasion

Edit: Oh yeah and I always have a Founders Breakfast Stout in the fridge when we can my hands on it - which is unfortunately rare in Australia.

Every year, I get hankering for one pumpkin beer. I love pumpkin as much as anyone I've ever met, but the number of pumpkin beers worth the time are, in my experiences, few. One is plenty.

    Lambic and gueze.
Arguably my favorite beer styles but just can't drink them regularly for what they cost.

Anything over 11%, just once in a while. "Style" be damned.

Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I love it, but unless I win the lottery...

I would say brown ales. Will drink a Fat Squirrel or something like that once or twice a year. Nothing against the style, but usually if I want something darker I go all the way with a stout or porter.

I'd probably drink this every day if it didn't cost so much. Relegated to once in awhile though because of the price point. Such a great beer.

For Me Triples, Sours, and Amber ales. An admitted IPA snob, I just need my fix of Hops. I do remember a time when amber/brown ales were more of a go to beer.

Nobody has mentioned black IPAs. I'm down for a fresh bottle of Wookey Jack a couple times a year.

I drink so many IPA's that I periodically reset with a nice Pils. Either Firestone's Pivo Pils, or Lagunitas Pils.

Sours and German beers fall into this category for me. Sours fatigue my palate too much, and I'm just generally not in the mood for most German-style beers. Aventinus Eisbock and Weihenstephaner Vitus hold me down when the mood strikes.

Sours. I enjoy them and appreciate them when I have them but they aren't something I can drink every day like I can an IPA.

Stouts as well. I love me a good stout, and drink the style quite often in sessions with my friends--but I rarely am in the mood to kick back and drink one on my own. When I get home from work I'm generally looking for refreshing, regardless of the season.
