I'll be driving from Atlanta to Austin on the 21st and debating whether I should go I10 or I20. It looks like 10 goes through more interesting places so, where are the more notable stores and breweries that lie within about 10 miles of the interstate? I don't need any help with Atlanta, New Orleans, or Texas, but the rest I'm not really sure about. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

If you take I-20 you will go through Birmingham AL and there are quite a few good breweries close to the interstate there.

Taking I10, you have parish brewing at Lafayette. Definitely want to check that out.

If you take I10, Lazy Magnolia Brewery is a few miles of the interstate in Kiln, MS. We enjoyed a stop there this past spring on the way to New Orleans.

Bayou Teche Brewery http://bayoutechebrewing.com/ just befor Lafayette is a good stop, if you take I12 north of New Orleans, you can stop at Old Rail Brewing Company in Mandeville http://www.oldrailbrewery.com/, Chafunkta Brewery in Mandeville http://www.chafunktabrew.com/, Abita Brewery in Abita Spings, Covington Brewhouse in Covington, Gnarley Barley in Hammond, Barley Oak in Mandeville, Covington Street Taproom in Covington so many places, so little time!

Thanks to everyone for your help. I loaded up in a big way in Atlanta. Even managed to get a growler of Koko Buni. The drive back to Austin was a long one, but I did stop at Bayou Teche. What great people! A big storm hit while I was there, and they invited me to join them for their Christmas party. Good beer, good food and good people!
    Cheers!
