    Let the positivity flow...

Any positive stories or situations beer related?

For me, it brings my family and friends together, which i enjoy. And specifically i have soft spots for certain beers like Guinness, Boston Lager and PBR from sharing with people. Get a bbq going, a fire pit, a cooler full of beers and the games start from basketball to darts etc...

Share?......what does beer do for you guys?

It always puts me in a better mood. Not because of the alcohol, necessarily. The whole experience tweaks all my senses in a great way.

I have made many friends at local events that I would not have otherwise.

It has helped me make new friends, I recently moved a few years ago and through a local craft beer place where I now live I have met new people that I have alot in common with in our love for great beer!!

Got me my job. I'd say that counts as a positive.

Another thing in life to enjoy. It's always great when you can drink a good beer with someone and talk about how awesome it is. If you can find friends with the common interest then that's a good thing too. Even if it isn't sharing the same beer, and it's just you and a friend drinking separate 40's or commercial beer, it's still fun to get tipsy and converse.

Same. I've learned a metric fuckton since I've joined here, and over the holidays I'll be starting my first homebrewing endeavor!

I have to say I have met several cool people and tried a ton of good beer over the years. It made me realize to what degree I will go to get/try a beer, which may or not have been worth the effort at times. Is there another forum for the negative impact of beer in your life? I have a few of those also.

Postive impact beer has had on me; let me see, that would be none, zero, zilch, nada. It has however drained my bank account, made me fat and makes me drive all over creation looking for something new to try. Just kidding, I'm not fat nor broke, but it does make me drive all over the place.

I grew up in a family who strongly dislikes alcohol and believes it is practically the devil's potion. When I went to college, I started drinking and fell in with a group which have become extremely close friends. I've now been a groomsman in 4 of their weddings and we are significant parts of each others lives. As a bonus, I have a job in beer which I find extremely interesting because I get to ponder my hobby for 8-10 hours a day...and they keep sending me checks every two weeks to do it. I would hate my job if I did the same thing for yogurt or diapers, but since it's beer and I can ponder the impact of my favorite local IPA versus a new-comer from a brewery that I have friends who work at, it's very interesting.

I also met my current girlfriend at a bottle share. If it wasn't for a beer event, our paths would never have crossed.

That's me also. I just got into craft beer a few months ago, so I read about beers I might like, note them on my phone, and then go looking for them. I frequent six different local bottle stores, visiting each at least every week. Also compelled to make short road trips since I am under 5 miles from two other states, and they have different distribution. Also compelled to visit bottle shops when on vacation. I am surprised how much I've learned from 'yall in just a few months. Thanks folks!

It made me realize that water is overrated. And wine. Any liquid that is not beer basically. :grinning:
