Well, yes and no. I bought tickets from NYC (without owning a car) and rode a train and bus (what up 832 line??) to pick up my 8 bottles and then return. I didn't bug my wife or beer friends to try buying tickets at noon because I wouldn't subject them to traveling that distance. If I lived nearby, all bets would've been off in that regard. Have the wife try to buy tickets, have beer friends buy tickets, etc, just like people probably did with the lottery.

In regard to addressing another point though, previous posters are right in suggesting that if I didn't have the option to buy tickets, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Knowing I could buy bottles online and then just travel + pickup is much less hassle than trying to arrive early enough to be in a line.

Looks like I am joining the ranks of the shut out.
I can't complain about The way Kane went about this.
Those of you that got bottles, I hope you enjoy them.

I stopped adding my 'hads' altogether after the last fiasco. Not that I ever came close to adding everything I drink anyway.

I had a bottle of the vanilla last night. As usual, Kane hit it out of the park. A little less vanilla than I thought, but delicious none the less. Add me on untappd if you want to see a pic - dukejjz

I wasn't going to post about winning the lotto because it feels like bragging. However, I did want to confirm that having a can in your avatar does seem to make it likely that you won.

What time does the support group start because I need to join:

Me: "My name is Joey & I got shut out of Antead 2015"
    Group: "Hi Joey"
*** Clutches 2yr antead coin, single tear rolls down my face ***

Damn my avatar & my stupid face! You're not bragging man, congrats. We will live vicariously through you. I actually look forward to hearing peoples reviews, accounts of the pickup process, etc.

I had my stupid face as my avatar, until I lost a bet and picked up this ugly shit. I knew I should have never made that bet.

Note to self, change avatar from my kids actually at Kane, to a can...

If anyone who did get bottles wants to put together a tasting, I'd be willing to put out a 1095 (I've been following Kane since somewhere between day 721, and 1095, not day 1), and maybe try to do the 4 anniversary beers and 4 ANTEADs from this year, I'd be down and willing to bring a +, since the anniversary stuff is considered "lesser". 8 bottles would give everyone a 3oz or so taste of everything.

Not sure what NJ brewery laws allow, but maybe they'd even let us open them there.

Apparently doesn't work when you have two cans as your avatar. :slight_frown:

Sadly.. the way things with special releases keep going.. and the way we as a craft community keep treating them... many places may begin to employee on premise only... ala Hill, Side Project, Westbrook etc...

Simply put, it is the easiest way to deal with a beer(s) that are so in demand that trying to sell them isn't worth the effort of brewing the beer.

No clue on laws for each state, yadda yadda.. but i'm sure they can pull it off by making people split bottles etc. I foresee this becoming a new trend with some places that know demand is going to cause strain on their business. I know it would be my way of running things if I was in their shoes.

How many people will be picking these things up on Saturday? I was thinking about finally visiting to try Hop Lab Triple IPA, but if there are going to be lines then I may as well just go to Other Half (and not have to drive).

Also their FB says that Triple will be distributed to bars and restaurants. Has anyone actually seen any out in the wild yet? We have gotten other Hop Lab releases in Hoboken/Jersey City.
