A crowler machine would be a great addition. This is my Christmas wish. Imagine the delight on the faces of all my out-of-state friends when they open that box and see a few 32oz cans of Fresh Cut deliciousness!
Why no Lost Forty in NWA? Arkansas' beer scene really needs a boost. The better known beers like Diamond Bear and now Core just aren't any good. Ozark is coming on but that's the only Arkansas brewery I can say does consistently good stuff. Will need to try some Lost Forty when I'm down in Central Arkansas I guess.
I'm sure Lost 40 will eventually get here into NW Arkansas. Ozark just recently announced they were going to expand their distribution into Central Arkansas after operating for 2 years. You always want to take care of your local market first and figure out the kinks before pushing beyond those limits. Self distributing locally versus hiring a distribution company is also a big point to work through.
By the end of 2016 we hope to be selling beer in every wet county in Arkansas. We recently started selling beer in Northeast Arkansas....and in January Lost 40 will be available in Texarkana, and Hot Springs. It looks like distribution to NWA will start in the Spring.......but unfortunately I do not have a firm date.
Diamond Bear does do well with some styles. Their malty beers such as the Porter, Irish Red and O-Fest are solid.
What are the best L40 beers? Never had any of their stuff. Are they the Yellow Rocket Concepts brewery?
Yes, Lost Forty is owned by Yellow Rocket Concepts. Right now we are canning 4 year round beers: Bare Bones Pilsner Love Honey Bock Pale Ale Day Drinker Belgian Style Blonde Our current seasonal is Forest Queen Milk Stout We plan on releasing another year round beer called Crystal State Rockhound IPA sometime in the Spring. If you come to the brewery we always have tap room only beers. 3 of my favorite tap room beers that we have on right now are our Rock Candy, Doppelbock, and an Imperial IPA. Every Monday at 4 pm in the tap room we release a new beer. We call this Fresh Cut Mondays!
@jcdgoad , crowler station up and running? Gotta get my Central Arkansas homies sending that stuff up here before you guys make it to NWA
That barrel-aged doppelbock was pretty serious business, and both of the recent imperial IPAs were very good. I try to stay stocked on fresh Pale Ale and Rock Hound, too.
Had their BA Baltic Porter on tap Friday. Probably my 2nd favorite beer Arkansas has put out (behind BDCS of course). @jcdgoad any plans to can this?
No current plans to can BA Baltic Porter, but I bet that it will return sometime in 2017! We will be canning Nighty Night and it will be released sometime this fall. We just released our Hefeweizen and it is available statewide on draft. Look for our Summer Saison in a couple of weeks, and Blackberry Wheat shortly after that. The Hunter Oktoberfest will be released in late July in cans and draft. Our Azacca Imperial IPA is drinking great.............if you have not tried it get some!! Also, Crowlers are now available in the tap room.
Yasss! (to all of that) I have to ask if there are plans to start a website? I think it's kind of strange that L40 seems to be so good at marketing with the merch/design/social media, but there is no website. One of my out-of-town friends couldn't believe it when he googled Lost Forty before he came to visit.
