I'm all in for these Casey grape blends. St Lam, Vig, etc. All grape beers. Yup!

Yeah these are the most exciting beers Troy has released this year for me. Grape beers have been largely misses for me as well aside from, shockingly, earlier de Garde (b1 Vin Lee, Archer, Lily), but the fruit that Troy is privileged to showcase through his beers is literally some of the best in the country. There may not be many wineries utilizing what's being grown on the western slope but I am so grateful that Casey is and can pump out these unique expressions monthly.

That all being said I am super bummed we won't be able to attend this month :slight_frown::slight_frown:

Yes, western slope grapes have been improving in quality for a while and the climate is nearly ideal to produce red grapes (or black grapes, as some may say). It's intriguing, although I suppose there is a chance it could be underwhelming. I think red grapes are more suited to beer than white grapes.

Given Troy's track record, I'm going to say there's a pretty good chance these beers won't suck.

Truth, and it seems like a lot of folks are forgetting he already did a Grape Fruit Stand back in 2014 (released December of '14) and it was awesome. I don't recall what type of grapes he used but I am sure that all of the new blends will be fantastic.

Edit: Cab Sav was the grape used

I am more skeptical of the white wine grapes than the reds. A Chardonnay cut could be baller, but I really don't know what to expect from a Riesling varietal, since they can run the gamut in sweetness. Oh well. In Troy I trust. Looking forward to the release.

Reisling grapes are really acidic themselves, most american takes on the wine are just sweet to appeal the masses.

Got tickets to the January release! Having just moved from SoCal to Park City, UT, this will be my first visit to Casey!

Very very excited and if anyone has any tips for the release please let me know! (Parking, places to stay in the area etc.)

Thanks all and see you on January 2nd

Tips: There is no reason to show up before 11:00 am, which is when the event starts. You park right there. Grab breakfast at Sweet Coloradough and thank me later (doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches are amazing). If you're staying in Glenwood for a night or two, stay at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge and you can access the hot springs pools for free.

Ahoy fellow Utahn! Have a great time at Casey, it's a blast! We usually just take I-15 down to Highway 6, up and over the mountains and down to I-70. From there it's a straight shot all the way to Glenwood Springs and a very pretty drive, at that. We alternate between staying in Grand Junction (cheaper) and Glenwood Springs. When it's warmer out we also like to camp and bike in the Fruita area and make a fun weekend of it. With the ticket option it's not like you'll be in any huge rush to get to Casey, although sometime beers run out at the bar, so we prefer to go toward the start of the release. Food: we really like the Pullman for a nicer sit down meal and Slope and Hatch for filling bar food in Glenwood. Jilbertitos #1 has some pretty tasty Mexican food. We also enjoy going over to Carbondale to visit Roaring Fork and checking out the liquor stores there. It's only about 10 minutes down the road from Glenwood and it's a really pretty drive. You can keep going all the way into Aspen but we haven't made the time for that yet. Enjoy!

Thanks so much! I surprised to see someone else from Utah on this site! I figured I was the only one, considering haha.
Thanks for the tips! Will you be going to the event? If so see ya there! I'm looking forward to the pretty drive out there, it will be a blast!

    Cheers!

Anybody else try to log in to their EF account, only to be locked out because of an incorrect password (the one given in the email)?

There are a few Utahns on here in a Colorado world . Not going to this release since we were just at the last one, but we are EF members so we will head to at least four releases next year. Cheers!

Yup. Just going to wait it out and see if it's a bug since the password reset doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

It's working now - tell it send you a reset link (obviously you'll need the right e-mail) and it should let you take care of your business.
