I finished what was left over of my BCBS by infusing it with 2 tsp of Intelligentsia Coffee for 4 hours. Very happy with the result. Coffee works well to be a little reminiscent of BCBCS. If I do this again, I will let the coffee steep in the beer longer.

How many boxes did you get? You have way more than enough karma built up! You don't need to send anyone anymore beer for a while! Also, you are now a member of the 12DoX so you must post pRon over there and participate with all of us!

Well, I was trying to find a christmas song/story that I could parody well enough (That was awesome @NJB145!--classy as hell too) to show my appreciation for one of the classiest moves I've seen in a very long time. Like, way classier than Nick's awesome stache...

@whyteboy003 might have mentioned that he really enjoyed a fairly available local beer when he was visiting the great city of Chicago, and that he would enjoy the opportunity to try it again. So, being a #L4L, I took it upon myself to send him a few more bottles so that he could spread a little Chicago love around the great state of FL--a gesture that is commonplace in the group.

Of course, the normal, "your porch is not safe," "you deserve it," "I'll get revenge," "nah, send it to someone else" conversation ensued, but I failed to pay attention to one particular question/comment.

I think that it went something like this:

@whyteboy003--"Hey, by the way, did you get into the 12DOX--it's gonna be pretty crazy over there."
me-- "I thought about it for a while, but the wife has been on me for sending/receiving too many boxes recently, so I figured I'd lay low for a bit."
@whyteboy003--"Too bad. You really should get involved..."

The use of future tense (should get involved) threw me for a moment--the targets were sent out a few days prior--but I attributed the slip up to Matt's inclination for the Packers, or too much beer, or something else along those lines, and I went about my day.

Then I got two UPS notifications...

They originated in FL...

They were for a 23 pound box and a 31 pound box...

...oh FUK...

 

False...no one would trade me so I gave it away...all 2.5 cases...given...a...way

 

Well, the "23 pound" box arrived today.

I raced home to try to bring it inside before the wife got home from work...


...she pulled in right behind me...


...when she saw me struggling with the box, she rushed over to help me bring it in...


..."FUK, this weighs like 40 pounds. Is this more damn beer..." were the words that came out of her mouth.


I thought my days were short, but then I showed her this.



...and explained to her the story above and what the 12DOX was...


...And then she said, "That's pretty cool. I guess your beer-boyfriends are okay."


...and then she said, "does this mean that you have to send out another FUKin box?"...


I just smiled.
(and shuddered thinking that a "31 pound" box is scheduled to land tomorrow. She doesn't work tomorrow. I'm still trying to figure out how to explain that one...)

 

@whyteboy003 I see Due South is now bottling more? Some stuff you've sent me before (read: I don't need more of) is now being sold in bombers?

Seriously, Matt, I don't think that there are many times I have felt so humbled. This was an absolutely unexpected, totally classy, incredibly selfless gesture on your part. I missed out on the turkey 6-er and hemmed and hawed about getting into the 12DOX just long enough that I missed the deadline. Even if the box is full of high-life, Bud Light, and Corona (somehow I have a feeling it is not...), making the effort to include me means more than anything that you might have included in the box.

I had Matt as my sender for 12 DOS and I just want to say "Good luck!".

 

So I was trying to think of a LIF and I think I nailed it. So I am a Browns fan for those that do not know me. A big dumb animal of a Browns fan, full of hurt and hope. If you are not a Browns fan you have no idea what I am talking about and it is pointless trying to explain.

That being said there is a huge game at 4:30pm Sunday against the Seahawks. Yeah...I said HUGE! Guess what. The Browns are going to win and that is where this LIF comes to play. All you have to do is LIKE this post to play. (Yeah this is how I buy all my likes). IF the Browns lose I will pick 3 of the people who played and send them a box by March. I say by March to buy me time but surely it will be earlier. But what happens IF and WHEN the Browns win? Well shit. At first I thought that everyone who joined owed me a box. It's a slim shot. Browns have a 17pt spread or something ridiculous. But then I thought that was a douche move and would feel like a jerk since I know the Browns are going to win and I would basically be stealing beer. So here is how it goes down.

WHEN the browns win everyone who entered gets thrown into a BIF that I will run and owe someone else a box. I will be included so I will still be sending a box but also receive a box.

So to sum up.

Like this post to play. Anyone can join.

Browns win it turns into a traditional BIF, 44oz of beer due by March 1st.

Browns lose I chose 3 people in some random unannounced way and send them each a box by March 1st and no obligation by anyone else.

You have until Sunday at 4pm to join/like.

 

You're drunk Ray. When the Seahawks win and IF I win I'll forward it.
