Keep tabs on BeerMenus for the most up to date info on their tap list. And yes, I am pretty excited myself at what they have/will be putting on in the future.

Agreed with most stuff here. Most of my weekend beer adventures out of San Jose are either over the hill to Sante Adairius (grab lunch either Burger location before, they have a good tap list). Or up the east bay to Rare Barrel and Faction. Santa Clara Valley Brewing, etc is nice. The bar just opened at Whole Foods Blossom Hill (closest to the Almaden neighborhood) and they've had some good taps, but I haven't been there enough to make a judgement call yet.

Hit up South Winchester BBQ last night after seeing your recommendation. Food, beer, and staff were all incredible. Will be going there often!

Another great place that hasn't been mentioned yet is Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City. Tasty German food, great beer, and totally reasonable prices.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! Say a prayer that all my beer survived the move to the west coast!

Yeah, we would only get so much in the cars, so the rest had to go with the movers.

If you packed it well, it will be fine. I moved from DC to SJ and from SJ to IN, brought my most coveted bottles in the car we drove cross country each time and otherwise, packed the rest in case boxes but stuffed them with everything I could find for padding/immobility. The moving companies act like it's against their rules to ship alcohol for you but they knew what it was both times and took fine care of my stuff. Hopefully you'll have the same experience.

What about Freewheel? I feel like you have to have lived in England to choose Freewheel over GHS or Harrys in Redwood City. And I live walking distance from the brewery.

As long as he didn't write "BEER" on the box then he should be OK I guess. I was more thinking of theft than breakage...but both equally suck.

Welcome to Almaden. I grew up here, moved away for a long time, and now wouldn't be anywhere else.

The Whole Foods on Blossom Hill and Almaden Expwy opened their taproom a month ago. The list is fairly small but they have quality stuff from Altamont, Faction, Fieldwork etc. fairly often.

I belong to SF Bay Area Beer on FB. I am sure there are more, but that is the only one I am aware of.

Hermitage is awesome in SJ, and close to so many good breweries. Sante is a short drive, up north you have RR and Lagunitas. Just google breweries in California. So many in that area. Have fun.

Welcome to SJ and looks like we're neighbors.

You gotta hit Maplewood liquors really nice selection and huge
ISO Beers in Downtown nice chill vibe great bottle selection and 30 taps.
Sara in Capitola is a must stop
Hermitage, Santa Clara valley and Strike are all here in San Jose and worth a stop ( maybe you can skip Strike )
Santa Clara liquors has a huge selection but a little pricey at times.
South Winchester BBQ is a awesome spot.

I've some guys already bring some of these places I just wanted to co-sign so you spend your money at the right places.
I'm also into trading and we live pretty close to each other so hit me up if your interested. Cheers.

Just say "no" to Cask 'n' Flask! Overpriced to begin with, then they add to the price (hourly) once they find out it's a popular beer. Drive the extra two miles to Maplewood. Santa Clara Valley Brewing is a must!!
