Any idea what the ABV was on the bad bottle? Wondering if my one bottle is going to be any good.

 

I haven't seen fresh Sculpin/GF Sculpin in DC or VA in a long time. No way I'm paying $15.99 a sixer for some old ass Sculpin. Really disappointing. They need to drop the price.

As a native of STL, I love TIPA. But I haven't bought any this season because of the reason you mentioned. Saw some in WF Alexandria the other day that was bottled in August. For $12.99/sixer.

 

Westover has TIPA on tap. The kegs might be fresh.

 

Sadly I think they reduced the suggested retail price this summer from $18.99 down to $14.99 or something like that.

 

I don't see why they would brew more for keg only, I'd bet its from the same batch that's in bottles on shelves.

 

If I was you, I'd get there between 9 and 10, can make for a long day, but by noon, that line will wrap around the new building that Hardywood has, and down the street a ways, I personally know at least 20 people from N. VA and NC that are going to the release, most if not all of my friends are getting there no later than 10. YMMV, have fun, and damn it got cold..

 

My plan is to swing by bluejacket at noon for their release, drive down to Richmond for lunch/drafts at the Answer and show up to HW around 330/4 to grab bottles and head back to DC. Should be no reason to line up for this (or any) of their releases IMO.

 

This is what I'm thinking as well. I doubt they would have increased the bottle limit to 6 pp if they thought it might sell out in just a few hours.

Yup, the only one that wasn't at 2, I think, was BA GBS and that was at 10 or 11?

 

And you're saying you need to be in line at 9am for a 2pm release? What are the odds they sell out in the first rush?

 

My thought is with going early, get in and then still have the rest of the day, 3 or 4 pm and headed to Mekong for linner...
