Added a piece of vanilla bean and re-capped overnight; takes perfection over the top!

Here's to a completely unproductive afternoon :grinning:

    Cheers BA!

Just getting a chance now to join you all for the Day of the Dark. Looks like I've got some catching up to do.
I'll need some coffee to get me going. Starting with Keegan Ales Joe Mama's Milk, milk stout w/ coffee added.
    Cheers.

Slow cooking calls for a slow sipping beer, cheers!

This is going in my smoker, cherry wood, garlic, rosemary, thyme, sea salt, fresh ground pepper rubbed with organic extra virgin olive oil leg of lamb, some good eating tonight!
Along with white potatoes with onions, garlic, fresh rosemary from the garden (it's also in the lamb), sea salt, and fresh ground pepper. Then ten minutes before serving butter is allowed to melt over the potatoes, cheers!

I have a problem. This is what I had intended to drink for Day of the Dark...
(Oh, look! you can see my reflection - I shaved my beard off this afternoon).
But I have family arriving in two days and I need to drink what's in my refrigerator so I don't have to share it with them...
Because that, my friends, that's the true meaning of Christmas: drinking all the good beer before friends and family ever know that you had it, let alone get their filthy, unworthy hands on it.

    What should I do?!?!

By the way, the only reason to watch the following video is to see Mary MacGregor's perky nipples. I only watched a few seconds of it and I had the volume turned off.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

Pours a classic Kolsch semi-hazy pineapple juice color; head is as fluffy as can be, 2 fingers, leaves speckles of lace. Fingers on the opposite side appear translucent like shower glass.

Aroma of peaches, pears, pineapple, Gala apple; musky malt aromas behind that, with some hay and dew grass.

Taste has mild apples and peaches out front, followed by a sharp pine stab that coincides with the harsh carbonation. It ends with a slight yeast and malt finish.

Feel is intensely carbonated, with a semi-dry and musky finish.

Overall this isn't a bad Kolsch; however I could do without the pine stabs in the middle and the end. This is typical of NW ales though...so I'm not surprised.

This is my first time with the legendary Bell's Black Note Stout.
    This bottle is dated 03.13.14.

WOW! The beer has exceeded my expectations!

Part of an amazing box o' beer from the great BeerAdvocate @Prager62.
    Thank you!!

P.S. The Leper compound has just unexpectedly been overrun with kids. My trusted side-kick Herr Olee failed me again and now we're off to get pizza then home for an Ant Man viewing. All the while, I will be getting very tipsy...and watching the WBAYDN shenanigans.

Carry on with the good work currently happening on The Second Annual DAY OF THE DARK!

Final count for most "Likes" ends tomorrow at noon and prize winner(s) announced during WBAYDN #1156.

If none of this makes sense, check out page 1, and go from there.

    :grinning:

    Cheers!

@LeperJim I'm digging this theme. I have some good IPA's and dots but there's always tomorrow. This theme is much better than "Fruit Beer Friday", "Malt Liquor Monday", "NA Sunday", "Happoshu Halloween", and "Faro February".

This dry stout is regional. Looks right and smells great. Tastes ok and a bit watery. It's no Boulevard Dry Stout.
