New to Ohio (2015)

Another example of how negligible this law is. Brewery (Deschutes) ignores it, distributor ignores it (for some time anyway), but once it hits the shelves, someone suddenly cares? I don't get it... If anyone really gave a fuck about following the law, the stuff would never be shipped into the state, let alone a distributor letting it hit shelves.

My aunt distributes for Heidelberg, but on the wine side, was gonna ask her about getting some.

The fact someone "reported" Abyss is comical. I guess they were bored..

 

They tapped Hawaiian Speedway at Giant Eagle Market District in Strongsville, if anyone is interested.

 

Growlers or pours only?

 

My rep said they aren't relabeling and they are shipping it all back immediately apparently. I guess every store that did get it before the state found out has to stop sales right away. So dumb.

 

Confirmed same at dinner tonight. Very frustrating.

Thanks for the heads up! I rushed to one of my local stores. Grabbed the last two. I hinted to the beer purchaser about this. He said... "Yeah, my disturber called and told me to pull it." I said you sure took your time with a laugh.... he said "It isn't my fault you shipped me a beer that wasn't legal. If they want to pull it off the shelves, fine. I'm not though. I'm in the business of selling it." Haha. Makes sense to me!

 

Glad you got some man! Definitely don't post the stores info though because he could get into trouble. We don't need the state giving anyone trouble over this bullshit law. Funny how it was shipped and distributed here and THEN the state found out.

 

Saw Abyss in 3 stores in Columbus today. Plenty still out there.

 

Heard quite a few stores ignored the distributor and state's demand to stop selling the beer. Oh well. Hope they aren't caught.

Looking for thoughts from those who have been to the recently opened Brew Kettle Amherst, Ohio location. Despite living 10 mins away, & keeping my eyes peeled for the opening I have yet to get the time to venture over there since the opening several weeks back...seems to be decent activity on Untappd.
