Science says as you reach higher gravity, time slows for you relative to others. I entered a black hole with that Ten Fidy and while on my timeline I downed that thing like a champ, upon returning, I have found two hours had passed here on earth.

I have a Delusion as to how fast I'll get this one down, but nary a Delusion it will be my last beer on this light-challenged day.

I must say, I had a few sips of the growler of Alpine Nelson the GF was drinking before popping this beer (which is courtesy of @beergorrilla), and it tasted so damn good!

This beer actually reminds me of some of the darker BA beers from Adroit Theory. Not much of a looker, but smells nice-whiskey notes and stout coming together nicely. The rye comes out, and truthfully, the stout plays the strong supporting role in this one. Sipping the darkness away...

Good evening BA, hope everyone is enjoying the evening. Review time:

Very good hoppy blonde ale. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with moderate wheat/crackery malt and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; very smooth/crisp finish with a moderate sticky/resinous mouthfeel with a slight touch of wheat creaminess in there too. Good amount of dryness as well from the bitter finish. Light-medium bodied; with overall robust and flavorful profile for 5%; does not feel bland or watery in any way. Really enjoyed this one.

A session Autumn amber ale with sweet potatoes. This was pretty good. Aromas and flavors of sweet potato, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, and herbal/grassy spice earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spice bitterness; smooth/crisp finish with some light bready malt creaminess and spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness from spice, carbonation, and light-medium body. Very well balanced flavors, solid robustness, very drinkable. This was nice and enjoyable overall, but a bit underwhelming.

Holy crap, this was awesome! Aromas and flavors of big milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, molasses, licorice, mint, cola, wood, light bourbon, and herbal/oaky earthiness. Light herbal/woody spice and roast bitterness; with a super smooth creamy/silky/lush medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Low-medium carbonation. Great balance of the spice, malt, and barrel complexities. More of a sweet stout in flavor profile, not very roasty. The actual bourbon presence was low; but the additional barrel aging complexity and silky mouthfeel were all there; so the barrel aging was still extremely noticeable in those ways. Very smooth drinker, pretty much zero warming ABV. This was fantastic stuff.

Wow this was fantastic! Aromas and flavors of huge raisin, cherry, plum, fig, date, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, molasses, bourbon, brown bread, and toasted oak; with subtle citrus/piney hop notes. Light-moderate pine bitter and bourbon/oak spiciness; with a creamy/silky full bodied mouthfeel with slight hop stickiness as well. Slightly drying on the finish from hops. Very smooth with a pleasantly warming finish; zero booziness. This was all around outstanding stuff. English Barleywines have always been superior for me(and comprise most of my top 10 beers), but this is top tier stuff for an American. Maybe a bit better than BBA Bigfoot too.

    Cheers!

I've created a black and black. A monster! But a delicious monster nonetheless.Double the black, double the darkness.
Fitting way to end my Dark Day: 4 beers, all amazing. This glass also housed my Blackout Stout earlier so i guess i can get away with three beers in one :sunglasses: Cheers! \m/

My song as i walk off into the sunset triumphantly drinking delicious beer(even though sunset was five hours ago)

All BS aside, I failed two nights in a row. How could I forget to participate in such a good event? My apologies to @LeperJim. Fantastic job, sir.

Had to get in a little work and some family stuff. Going to tie a bow on this DotD with an appropriate cellar pull. Actually this one is a '15. Thought I was opening a '14. Oh well. At least they finally made a glass that holds these 375's. Barely.
