Watching Walking Dead reruns on Netflix and having this :

Pours darker than expected, with a honey-mahogany color. 80% opaque, rapidly diminishing head leaving bubbles of carbonation at the top.

Aroma of amber roasted malts, cream of wheat, peach pit, and faint brown sugar.

Tart flavor with cherry juices, black cherry, lemon and lime pith, some sour green apple skins. Biscuit and hop oil on the finish.

Feel is super carbonated - almost painful; semi-dry, slightly pasty finish.

Overall this beer is fair, but not near great. I'd have it again, probably on tap, but I wouldn't seek it out in a 4 pack again.

 

Glad to see this in cans, even if it meant a ferry ride to New York today. Delicious Nelson Sauvin hops!

I'm plowing through The Fountainhead and just cracked another one of those Central Water's Bourbon Barrel Stouts. It's so coconut-y and delicious. No pictures or anything this evening, just because you've all seen them numerous times.

Tejas Berliner.

Pours a straw colored body with a delightful transparent haze, clocking at 70% opaque. Rapidly diminishing head leaving a ring of creamy carbonation on top.

Virtually no smell whatsoever. Imagination brings dry oats or cheerios to the table. That's it.

Thankfully the taste delivers a little more, with tangy yeast and notes of cantaloupe rind. Vinegar and a touch of green apple skin. Breath brings up warm breadiness. Touch of lime and seltzer on the finish.

Feel is very carbonated, slight semi-dry parch.

Overall this was a fair Berliner, nothing to wag at, but still a good drinker. I won't have it again unless I'm down in Texas, but if I were, I'm not sure if I'd pick it up again.
