Anybody on here able to make this one? For some reason I thought this already passed, so it was a pleasant surprise to go in tonight and see the taplist.

While some of the awesome stuff was already kicked when we got there (See: Dogfish Head 120 Minute, Odd Side Hipster Brunch, Saugatuck BBA Neapolitan, Founders CBS, Goose Island BCBS, and Clown Shoes Flight of the Angry Beast), they still had some great beers to try. Something about that Griffin Claw BBA Screamin' Pumpkin is really making me enjoy pumpkin beers (at least that ONE) again. I was able to try this at 4Elf last week, and seeing it on draft tonight was pretty cool.

The craziest part was that they were doing growler fills of EVERYTHING! I was told the CBS kicked in about 20 minutes, but that too is amazing, considering they were doing growlers of it. We sure are spoiled in West Michigan (spoken in a grateful / humble manner). I can't honestly say I've ever seen such a loaded and diverse taplist as the one that they offered today. Great Job Horrocks!

    Here's the taplist:

Is this Battle Creek or Grand Rapids?

That's one helluva taplist. I'm surprised they would let folks walk out with growlers with some of those beers. Talk about one stop shopping.

@archiebunkerjr This was in Grand Rapids. They allowed you one growler/howler fill of beer if I'm not mistaken (although it may have even been one growler of each type of beer on draft). Either way, definitely one hell of a taplist. Horrocks does some pretty badass stuff with their tap offerings.

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I always go to Horrocks when visiting my folks in Battle Creek. It's a great place wihtout the beer, but the tap area makes it that much more fun to shop while drinking a beer. I hope that Battle Creek has an anniversary tap party as well.

That list is pretty good evidence that bars will hoard special beers for special occasions. I knew the Horrocks in GR had a pretty good beer selection, but no one ever mentions them as a place that can compete with the other stores in the area, or even that they set up a bar like the other two Horrocks locations. It sounds like it will be worth keeping tabs on them.

The Grand Rapids(Kentwood) store is on par with pretty much anywhere else in the metro area. Well worth checking out.
Though I thought it was completely stupid they allowed growler fills of any of those. Should have limited it to howlers.

I think it's awesome they allowed growlers; sucks I missed out on some of the opportunities but that's on me for not knowing about it and showing up sooner. If CBS (likely 1/4 or 1/6 barrel) lasted 20 minutes WITH growler fills, there obviously weren't many who ponied up the $64 for a growler (personally I would've grabbed a howler, as a growler is a lot of CBS for a guy to drink in a few days).

Horrock's is great. I did a bunch of beer shopping there for my family/friends, yesterday.
