Anyone know if Keith from Keith's Beer reviews is still alive? I remember one of his last videos he told us he had some serious medical conditions and then he hasn't posted since. I enjoyed his videos time to time

I used to watch Beer Geek Nation but gave up when he was shilling Pizza and the drunk video gaming and for awhile every review had a plug from quality liquor store or what the hell ever its called.

Greg is great and seems like a really humble and nice person. Darwin has really good reviews but I get really jealous at all the amazing treehouse, grimm, and hard to get beers that I don't have. and the beer geek nation guy does just seem like a stuck up douche.

edit: whats up with all the hate on beer geek nation? I dont think Chris comes off as a douche. He is very well knowledge on the subject of beer. His videos are quick and to the point and packs a ton of information in there. One my favorite channels.

dont want to put this guy on blast but a 97 plus is a 98. A 97 minus is a 96. Grow a pair and be confident enough to give a solid score.

Take a real drink of beer. Baby sips over & over are annoying. And I feel if I were ever at a bar and wanted to just enjoy a pedestrian beer with this guy, he couldn't. It would need to be disected like a frog in 6th grade. watch his Dinner review. Sips are creepy, and so long as beers are not up to Tree House standard, knit pickiness is overly ridiculous.

Oh yeah, and he has a little bell to ring. Comedy! Although, it works like Howard Stern & Connor Mcgreggor & the Diaz brothers. As much as I can't stand them, I still want to watch them fight, talk radio or review beer.... So I stay tuned.

I will say, as a beer reviewer on YouTube, I've never understood this. Or the 100+ or 100- ratings either. Or the "adjusted after review" portions. If you gave it a score just stick with it. A number grade isn't that hard to stand by in my opinion. After all, it's an OPINION not the end all be all.

Say he ranks one beer a 100+ and one a 100- he is saying they both are rated 100 but one is at the top of that ranking and one is underneath it or lower in that ranking. Great example is the top 250 list. The one at the top would be the 100+ and a beer thats a 100 but lower on the list is a 100-

Thats how I look at it.

Ok, I can kinda see that. But when there are 15 100+ beers they are all equally as good?

Greg is the type of drinker I would love to sit next to at a bar and drink with.
Darwin is cool, but he sometimes hates (for lack of a better word) on West coast style IPA's. Or maybe that's just the impression I've gotten from a few of his reviews.
Jow's Arcade Beer reviews is a great reviewer. He's also from San Diego and I enjoy his taste in IPA's. Kinda jealous, because I wish I had a Tree House connection like he does...

Been doing YouTube for about 4 years this April. Started for fun. Never wanted to be big (I'm not), never wanted to have sponsored beer reviews (I don't), and till this day I still keep reviewing...because of the amazing friends and connections I've made through YouTube. I have the utmost respect for anyone who goes behind the camera and speaks their mind about beer. Not as easy as it looks.

I try to watch as many channels as I can as it's fun to compare tasting notes, see others comments, and see what's new and exciting as almost all of you know how hard it is to keep up.

There are tons of internet trolls out there, but for every one I've come across...there are 5-10 other amazing folks who make it worth it! Thanks for everyone who's subscribed, liked, commented, and continues to come back! 2016 should be fun.

Thanks for the kind words, I never knew this thread existed!

    Prost-

Really like Greg's Beer Reviews.....hate that i have to fast forward so much because his reviews have got to be so long. I fast forward after he gives ABV & IBU's, FF til he pops cap, smells, and drinks, FF until he comes back with just a sip left! It only takes me a couple of minutes to watch this way! I do not have time for a 12-15 minute review!

I'm obviously in the minority, but I don't get any utility from watching beer reviews. I watch a lot of scotch reviews (ie. ralfy), but there is a big difference between throwing down $100+ to try a scotch and buying some new beers to try. I also don't have any issue picking out flavors or "understanding" beers, so I'm not sure what the point of the videos are. I've got nothing against the reviewers or the videos, but just don't have any use for them.

In general, I like them a notch less than most people, with huge preference towards New England style. "Hate" is a strong word since I reviewed a handful of West Coast IPAs in a few months ago. I gave them high 80s to low 90s, whereas they were rated on BeerAdvocate in the mid 90s. Just my preference, and also what I predict palates will shift towards in the near future.

And thanks everyone who checks out the channel and for the shoutouts!
