As of last week i knew as least one place that was definitely getting limited distro. I don't know if things changed as a result of Saturday or not.

I was just told that Brown received only 4 cases for all of Nova. That being said, I don't trust any info that comes out about Hardywood Nova distro until it actually hits.

Stopped by Bluejacket yesterday afternoon.. I thought Still Life was one of the best beers they have put out there

Bunch of us sampled a bottle yesterday and it was enjoyed. Not incredible, but I liked the complexity.

BlueJackets "Red Eye" was pretty great a TON of barrel came through in it, only 132 bottles were made apparently, mouth feel was a little light but its always preference. Super complex barrel characteristics assuming thats what nimbleprop had. Might be great with a couple months under its belt it the cellar.

That's great news, I snagged two bottles about mid-day Saturday and it looked like they had about half their stock left. Just need to tape the label to the bottle this time for the cellar. I had a few slip off recently and had to guess which bottle was which.

Thinness is absolutely an issue they have, specifically with the barrel aged stuff, but also across the board. Could be an issue with the grain bill, or even how they mash, and more likely both. They should get this worked out over time though. I'd love to see them attempt a beefy stout for barrels just to try it.

As previously discussed in this thread, I didn't think Still Life, or any Bluejacket beer, was a good candidate for aging. The body of a cellared beer gets thin, and if you start with a thin beer you'll probably wind up exasperating that flaw. Just my two cents.

Draft starts hitting today. No label approval in VA yet. Bottles will start popping in DC tomorrow though. Not sure who is getting what when though.

Do you think the Barrel Aged Double Mexican Radio has a thin mouthfeel? That one feels pretty spot-on to me.

I think that is their beer. The mouth feel on that one was perfect. I thought it was amazing and was so happy when i was drinking it! I prefer it over all Abraxas variants except for the coffee which was off the hook, they really killed it on that one. I've been waiting for them to throw it on tap but they keep just putting on the regular barrel aged mexican radio

Haven't had the double mex radio, but I did have barrel aged mexican radio (the 9.5% version) and I thought that was oily and thin. Would love to try the 11% version, heard good things. Minus that one beer, don't you think there's a bit of a body issue overall?

I haven't had a lot of their stouts, only the 2 BA versions of mexican radio. The double is a lot better, I agree that the regular is lacking in mouthfeel. I think as a brewery they definitely have consistency issues, their beers are misses more ofen than they're hits for me, but some of the hits are really good. Some of their sours have been huge butter bombs for me, that's my biggest complaint. I thought the wet hop beer they did this year was the best I had from any brewery though.

if what @Jhurley1 said is true about 4 cases total for all of NOVA then i know 3 of 4 are in fact gone and i assuming 1 other place that i dont know about got it today as well.

It wasn't true. Probably double that went out today. This happens quite a bit with hardywood releases. I don't think their distributor knows what he's getting until it's on his truck.
