You know there's a new section for this sort of thing right? I'm not sure if a couch would be turned down by the brothers.

Then again....FOBAB and Founders Anny party being on the same day may keep some blue tarps and tents away from Grand Rapids

True! But I still say that FOBAB is one of the best festivals I have ever been to. If it wasn't for my passion for barleywine, I would do FOBAB over a Founders party any day!

Yep...missed that one....but the 2011 4Elf party was very impressive...mainly for the insane red solo cup pours!

Cool thing is you can probably have Founder's 15th at FoBAB without having to go to Michigan.

I found a date for the party on founders site under live music - search for founders 15th anniversary and it will come up

Yup, exactly. I emailed them and confirmed that's the date too.

Or maybe the union raised the price for hall rental this year by a significant amount, or the Bridgeport location is much cheaper, or easier for the brewers, or there could be a lot of reasons. It's definitely not as convenient of a location for the festival goers, but given the tickets sell out way in advance, I'm sure they're not terribly worried, they know people will show up. And I imagine they'd hear a lot more complaints if the ticket prices had to be jacked up to support the same location.

By jacked up, what do you mean? $5 a ticket wouldn't be a huge deal if they explained that the vEnue cost went up.

I'm really torn - I've never attended a founder's event, but the 15th anniversary sounds like one that could exceed expectations.

My problem is that I've kept an eye on past releases and while the crowd is great and it's a great time the beers on tap have maybe underwhelmed. I want to believe they'll step up, but last year I had KH, Brumble Roo and Gilgamesh on top of a ton of other treats at the fobab.

To my eyes one is a sure thing and the other has incredible potential. If I weren't an imbibe member this might be an easier decision, but I want to do both and barring that am leaning toward fobab.

What else is going down in Chicago that weekend is almost the deciding factor. That and getting tickets.

How crazy is it to get tickets for this? Belgian Fest crazy or Stout Fest crazy?

I am wondering the same thing. Do they usually sell out in a day?

Usually takes a couple of weeks for it to sell out in the past. Who knows what it will be like this year. Nothing surprises me anymore.

As long as I have a good 4 hour window then i'm not worried about it. I was just concerned theyd sell out in 14 seconds... Are there 2 sessions or is it an all day thing?
