Yeah. It is not subtle. If you aren't a big fan of rum, especially in your beer, you're gonna have a bad time. Like french frying when you should pizza:grinning:

So the GF helped me with the last beer, but I did forget that @beergorrilla sent me this offering (without any wax!!):

This is more like it... a straight up, at least American-leaning stout. Gonna let it warm and enjoy it along the way into bedtime. Cheers, BAs!

Trying my (left) hand at this one for the first time.

    3.91/5 rDev -0.3%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4.25

Pours a very dark black color but still somewhat see-through as it comes out of the bottle. Tan head, 2 fingers. Body is 100% opaque in the tulip.

Aroma of strongly burnt malts, a touch of lactose, and coffee grounds - in that order.

Sequence of Taste : Roast malts > Caramel > Milk Sweetness > Coffee > More Caramel > Burnt grounds of coffee with light hop sting.

The lactose does a good job of softening the blow of the roast coffee and malts, allowing the quieter notes to surface, bringing up the caramel and toffee notes. This fades however as the end comes back with a vengeance of hop sting and burnt coffee.

Feel is medium bodied, spatially carbonated, and dries with roast on the finish.

Overall the LH Milk Stout is something I'd have again although I wouldn't rush to buy it. It's a touch burnt for my preferences, but luckily the lactose makes up for that to soften the profile overall.

That beer is so heavy it squashed that nice polar bear. Love the beer.

This time it's really an aged KBS, last night I popped One that was 2015, I just missed the date. They're all really good, but this one is better than last nights bottle. Out of a KBS tulip too A picture would be great, and I tried to upload to photo bucket, but fuck it , it's too hard. Visualization guys.

Yeah, not sure why - even darker beers that you might think could even work with rum, just not for me. Funny thing is I originally couldn't imagine gin barrels working with a beer, but I've had a few I enjoyed well enough (including gin-barrel OTWOA - was strange but interesting and sippable).

Disclosure: have not seen the movie yet; have no idea who, if anyone gets killed; and don't want any spoilers "lalalalal" *fingers in ears* (really useful reading internet posts )
