Irony... However it did allow me to guess the location of Pinker's pic on a wild ass guess basis.

Yup, calling an objection on Rodolfo Llinas. Unless you go to neuroscientist conferences, his fame is more akin to Vinnie Cilurzo. I have no qualms that he's an important researcher in the field, and maybe he should be more famous for his accomplishments, but even when I was searching neuroscientists, figuring that there was a theme, this guy didn't show up. (Of course 1 I only know about because of his TED talk, and 3 has written a couple books.) Good job to the people who know him, though, but the clue said famous scientists, so I consider that to be rather unfair.

Certainly don't disagree that Rodolfo was the hardest of the 3...
But, he's fairly distinct looking and has been on numerous TV programs on neuronal wiring plus has written multiple books.
    Had to make it hard!

At least we now know what Urbancaver looks like.

Surprising how many people did not even take a guess on Friday...

Yeah after I got it, I asked a friend that's in the Neuro grad group if he could name the guys and he replied with their names almost immediately, he only had to google Llinas name to make sure he spelled it right

worked out to know someone in a neuro group. i, unfortunately, had no such luck. i showed the pictures to a couple of PhD chemists and we only came up with ramachandran (from his TED talk). i also wanted to submit for 1/3 of a point... and for pinker's picture i wanted to guess something like "the last picture is PhD astrophysicist, and noted guitarist, brian may".

I got really lucky on this last Fridays. Turns out I graduated from Albion College a year before Urbancaver at Albion College and I knew one of the girls in the picture. Because I knew of a project she worked on during a summer internship that gave me a starting point... otherwise I had no idea who any of those people were. All that was left were my mad googling skills.

Google definitely saved my ass on the second guy. I recognized the location so all that was left to find out who all had been there in the neuroscience field. Once I found Rodolfo, I knew I had my man.

Pretty sure I got todays, now if I could just figure out a way to get those Friday images. Nice work everyone who got either of them right.

I spent quite a while looking, but without much to work from, I came up with nothing. I didn't bother guessing because I already knew my best guesses would be wrong. I'm impressed that anyone got them all, especially if you're not a neuroscientist...

only one? got me wondering if i missed something in my explanation (or if i'm the only one who got it, since i'm positive i know what the picture is - pretty sure i added enough detail, but could definitely add more if needed. didn't seem like a thesis was in order since it is pretty cut and dry ). i'm pretty interested in this aspect of science as a whole, but gotta say the difficulty has definitely been ramped up in the past week.

These last few days have stretched my chemical enginerding background a smidge or two. Thankfully, a quantitative mind is always stimulated by a challenge.

I may be over thinking this one... But what specifically are you looking for here? The phenomena that is going on, or what is causing it (material/process)?

Just means that you are ramping up appropriately toward the end my friend...
