Apparently they must have taken a PR hit after the first couple of BC photos and are trying to redeem themselves.

 

Yea could be. But then again, they had no limits on the other stuff too because they allowed one person to buy all of it.

 

Oh I thought they sold it that way because the guy was buying it all. Basically, they weren't going to allow people to pick and buy whatever they wanted.

 

Yea, I think that's probably right. I think you probably had to buy a package to get the variants. I remember a few weeks ago they posted a package of 1 case regular, and 1 each of Regal, Coffee, and Barleywine... for the low price $230 or so. On a related note, they also still appear to have KBS because they require a purchase of a 4-pack of Breakfast Stout to get 1 KBS. So they do this frequently. They also will list certain rarer beers on BM and then not sell to you if you aren't a regular or don't buy a ton of other beer at the same time.

 

They make their regulars buy packages to get seasonal too. You have to buy 2 other perennial bottles to be able to purchase an abraxas. Good for them though. They're able to not care that they look like douche bags and their still obviously able to move all their product.

Very magnanimous of them. Let one person clean out the supply of the most desirable stuff and then let it be open season for everyone else for the least desirable stuff. Eff those guys.

 

Their marketing sucks....

 

I would actually say that they are embracing being a wrestling heel. Look through some of their comments on the instagram posts that people just recently posted here, they're actively insulting people on there. Seems like there are people who eat it up though?

 

I can tell you how it went down @ my local grocery store in Austin Tx. (H.E.B.) . I was told by the Beer & wine manager who knows me by name. I asked hey are you getting any Rare this year , I Hope? He said Yes , I'm Off Blk.- Friday, so I will put one bottle aside for you to get Friday, from his assistant ! YES, I said so cool, what time is he in ? 10:30am, here in Tx.The law says no beer till 10:00am ! So I show up @ 10:05am & find a few guys waiting to see if they had Rare ? I just hung out a Few Min. & this Big dude says to a stock boy, before the assistant gets there maybe 10:15, & He say's Ya. I know where its at in the back of the store stock ! He comes out in a few Min, with a hand full of SIX boxes of Rare ! I Said OMG. !!! He knows Not What He is doing ! Before I could pick my Jaw up off the floor. I got 1 & saw 1 guy get 3 & he was on his way back to get more, When I said very loud , hey man you are going to get fired for this ! So you should have seen the Assistants Face when he came in 15 min latter . I just looked at him & said it's GONE ! He then looked in my basket and said what the HELL , Where & how did you get that RARE.? Pour Kid (stock boy) must have lost his job & had to explain to Dad what went down....

 

Sounds like a lack of communication between the manager, asst. mngr, and the rest of the staff. If so, the stock boy shouldn't lose his job. And that hiccup didn't cost you your bottle of Rare. If it had it would have made for a better Christmas Eve Horror Story!

 

Love that place. Looks like I'll be heading that way tomorrow.

 

Costa Rica over Bay Ridge???

 

they had reg, BW, Coffee & VR on tap last year right around black friday..and they also were selling bottles of VR (1pp)..nice little bar..when i was there it was almost empty..I felt like the BCBS taps were just for me!

 

Anyone see bottles of 2014 BCBS anywhere on Long Island or in NYC?

 

Best bet would probably be top hops. Everytime I go there they seem to have a random case of last years bcbs on the floor.

 

I actually see them from time to time at Westside Market on 7th Avenue in Chelsea. They seem to come out sporadically throughout the year - I saw them out sporadically over the past year, usually at pretty crazy prices. Last time I saw them was a few weeks ago, but there were a whole bunch of bottles, no price so I didn't bother trying to buy because I'm sure it was something crazy like $15/bottle. They've since been replaced by 2015 BCBS ($15.99 a bottle). If you really want some though, you could ask, I'm guessing they've moved it to the back.

 

Anyone know of a place that may have an older BCBS available? Looking for a '13 to complete a vertical.
