Other Half Brewery Thread (December 2015)

Street Green is a totally different animal. Highly anticipated, one-time collab with one of the top breweries in the country. This isn't going to approach that level of hype. Not to mention, it's a weekday release when most people have work, combined with the fact that people travel over the holidays so that probably takes out another large group of people. Getting there 2.5 hours early just seems rather insane to me, but you gotta do you.

 

It's a Thursday. It's New Years Eve. But if you're willing to stand underneath the Gowanus during rush hour traffic, far be it from me to discourage you!

 

The real question for me is... will anyone at work notice when I go to lunch that day and don't come back

 

I mean I'm going to be driving a little over two hours my main thing is just getting what I need. I think 730 may be a bit early if I'm there by 830 I'll be happy

 

I hope this isn't another crazy line release. Again, it's a Thursday morning. People work. Don't start the hype train.

I don't see this anywhere near Street Green. And it is a weekday, people are working. But it is also a time a lot of people are off as well. Will it be a shit show? Probably not. But getting there around 9-9:30 would be safe as these are 2 beers that haven't seen a can lately (or never). Locals may not rush for Forever Ever, since it will be readily available.

I still think an hour to 2 after opening is the sweet spot, little wait. But that is getting smaller and smaller!

 

Weekday release at 10am when many folks still have to work even a half day, should not be an issue. It is not a Trillium collab, and the second beer is a session. If the line is past the corner at open I will be surprised. Based on completely nothing aside from experience, which has only marginal correlation from the unique scenario, I would say before 2 or 3pm and you should be good.

 

Looks like Passiflora was bottled, but available at the brewery they did the collaboration with in Brazil.

 

Thats awesome. Really loved the Passiflora when I had it a few weeks ago

Those bottles will be available here too. Not sure about a release date.

 

NYE release, bah! I was excited that there might finally be a release that life wasn't getting in the way of, then they move it to a weekday! Wish I didn't have to work. Maybe I'll just head down to Kane and pickup a keg of Head High to wash away my sorrows!

 

Baby Diamonds tasting a little sharp atm. But still a good beer to break in my new OH teku!

 

Any word on rumored possible bottle for next weEK?

 

Yeah BD fell off pretty quick. Hop Showers is tasting great and AGE.

Super excited for superillo. Loved Amarillo. Expecting a hazy orange juice.
