    Listening to the Beach Boys Christmas Album as I see a few others are tonight. It's a great album, I used to listen to it on repeat when I was a kid. 'll have some Old Jubilation and reminisce of Christmas Past ...

    Great beer. Everybody is home. Wife is putting the oldest to sleep. Time for one good one before I have work to do.

    FYI: it's way too friggin warm for Christmas. It just doesn't feel right. It kinda sucks, haha

    Continuing on:

    Outstanding brown ale! Big flavors of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, toasted oats, brown bread, chocolate, light nuttiness, and light-moderate bourbon/oak notes. Very subtle dark fruits now after 4 months since my original review. Light herbal hop bitterness and oak/bourbon spiciness on the finish balances the malt sweetness perfectly. Awesome all around balance and complexity of malt/barrel flavors. Nice medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel. The actual barrel bourbon/oak flavors are fairly restrained; however the complexity that goes along with a barrel(vanilla/toffee etc) is really well pronounced. Part of the reason I love this so much; great complexity and zero associated barrel booziness. Absolutely delicious!

    My last can. Still incredible! Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel/rind, and pine; with light-moderate honey/bready maltiness and herbal/floral/grassy dank hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/rind/herbal bitterness; with a very smooth and sticky/resinous mouthfeel with a touch of bready malt creaminess. Nice moderate dryness from sticky bitterness; with no cloying or astringency from hops at all. Very smooth with minimal warming for the ABV. Glad I was able to get a 4 pack in November when I was in Fargo/Moorhead visiting my Mom.

    3 year old bottle as of 4 days ago. Absolutely insane! Huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, toast, and light smoke/char maltiness; with subtle dark fruit/licorice notes. Balanced bittersweet roast/char finish with a full bodied creamy/silky/slick mouthfeel. Super smooth sipping with minimal ABV warming and zero booziness. I love this fresh, but age makes this world class for me. So much dense and balanced complexity. I only have 1 of this vintage left, with plenty of 1 and 2 year bottles.

    Hope everyone's Christmas Eve is going well! We had to run out to Target to pick up a car rooftop carrier since the one we ordered from Amazon wasn't delivered today, like it was supposed to!! Kind of important to have it when we're leaving day after tomorrow....anyway.....time for a Christmas Eve ritual!

    I have been waiting for a special occasion to open on of my BCBS. Tonight being Christmas Eve and being able to share it with my oldest son who's back from college for Christmas certainly qualifies! Man this stuff is so tasty. My son said it was more complex and better tasting than the 'fancy' wines his friends have had him try. That's my boy! Merry Christmas y'all.

    I had the Hyper Dog BA from this year, and it was one of the best bourbon BA stouts I ever had. Guess only 30-40 cases total were shipped.
