New to Ohio (2015)

    The venue itself is really nice. Otherwise it's exactly what you would expect, its the same restaurant as in Strongsville. Same menu, I believe the same amount of taps. It's nice to have one that's more easily accessible to us west-siders!

    One thing I hate about Brew Kettle is the over-abundance of TV's... It makes it feel like a glorified sports bar. I really hope with the new brewery they are opening in Strongsville next year that it is more brewery like and less like a sports bar... The Amherst location doesn't seem to be any better than the Strongsville location in that regard.

    I love Brew Kettle, the beer is fantastic... But the atmosphere is just so lame IMO. I have high hopes for the new space!

    It's owned by Panini's, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

    On a related note, Fat Head's brewery is going to relocate up the road eventually, and I don't think it will hold the same appeal the Tap House does now.

    They planned on being able to buy more where they are at, but it seems that is not going to happen. They are looking at property on Engle, south of where they are now.

    Yeah, I recall being told about the possible relocation... I like the Tap House vibe a lot, hope they can carry the same "charm" over when they do relocate. I wonder if they have considered a big elaborate brewery such as what Victory has recently done in PA... I feel like FH could support a large expansion and such if they wanted, given the quality of the beer they put out.

    I don't ask too many questions, but from what I gather this will be as big or bigger than the North Olmsted location. I have heard of a gaudy thing or two, but my guess is it will be more utilitarian rather than flashy. It would be nice if they did a small area with beer but no food/kids/tvs... but I doubt they will

    Are you speaking in terms of seating area? That would surprise me considering the taproom never seems to be too busy.

    Yes. The Taproom gets pretty busy at night, but the reason it doesn't do crowds like North Olmsted is due to limited menu and the fact hardly anyone knows it's there.

    There's a ton of BBA Total Eclipse at World Wines in Mentor.. they had some a couple weeks ago, but there's alot more now.. $7.99/12oz bottle.. not sure if there's a limit..

    That place is somewhat of a hidden gem... at least on HERE. They sure do turn out volume though. Which in turn, helps them get some goodies... If it comes to Ohio. They almost always get it.
