Anyone know when the Abyss is hitting Chicagoland?

All I am hearing is nearer to end of month (Christmastime) than beginning of month (now).

 

It's beginning to pop up on BeerMenus

 

In Seattle for the holiday season. Abyss is turding up shelves EVERYWHERE. Bottle shops, grocery stores, Walgreens, etc.

All that means is that once it hits Chicago it will be gone quickly cause, I don't know, "limited"?

 

Halsted WF had a couple cases on Wednesday. Right above a shelf full of BCBS.

Has anyone else heard of the delay in shipping due to a crashed semi in Montana that was carrying the Chicago load of Abyss? I was just told by a large Chicago liquor store that they don't know when their shipment is going to arrive because most of the product was destroyed by this semi crash.

Weird because I talked with a Deschutes rep this weekend at Plank Road Tap and he said it was delayed, but all Chicago should have it by the end of this week (no mention of large loss of Chicago allotment in said semi crash).

Anyone heard anything on these 2 wildly different answers? Thanks

No loss folks, there is plenty of other high/er quality beer on the shelves

 

I was at Binnys LP didn't see any

 

I grabbed one yesterday, limit one. That left them one bottle remaining (Not Binny's LP).

 

6 on the shelves at the Whole Foods on Roosevelt (Canal Street) as of 530 tonight

 

I bought some in the burbs last week

 

Aren't there variants this year? I haven't seen any of those hit.

Some places already have it listed at BeerMenus.com, but none of the 100% barrel-aged variants until late January at least.

 

I just picked up 2 bottles at the Downers Grove Binnys. Bolingbrook Binnys just tweeted that they have some too.

 

Binny's on Grand has three cases.

 

Well that answers my question above in that I got Shit info from the Binnys on Grand store (not surprising). They literally told me yesterday they have no idea when they were getting it and that most of their allotment was destroyed in a semi accident.

 

The Bolingbrook Binnys doesn't have them on the floor yet but if you ask they have it.
