Kane Brewing (December 2015)

Just got my set today. Noticed this rust colored dried spot coming out of a crack in the silver wax on the Coconut. I'm now getting worried there really is an issue with the Coconut based on some other posts in this thread.

 

I've got a crack in my wax on my bottle of Coconut. Wonder if that's anything to worry about?

 

Had the coconut. Very minimal amount of rust on outside of cap. Smell indicated it may have been on the verge or a possible infection. Glad i consumed it now because the taste was spot on.

 

Opened a Coconut 3 days ago to share with 4 other people and it was perfectly fine...and delicious

Well, if I were you, I'd stop by Kane and show it to them so you can exchange it. Oh, wait...

Yes you do, when a beer gets infected it usually starts with the wax (cracking, peeling or disappearing) then it eats the cap and glass and finally the beer is infected .

 

So, when the Facebook posts say "retail kegs" does that mean you can go to the brewery and buy a keg to take home? That's how I always read it but wanted to verify before heading there. Got a new kegerator that's begging for some fresh beer! Anyone know how much they run?

 

Had a coconut tonight and there was nothing wrong with it. No rust. It's a very enjoyable beer.

 

And then if you drink the infected beer, the infection can spread to your mouth and digestive system, causing tooth decay, severe stomach ulcers, and intestinal bleeding. If the beer is not surgically removed from your body quickly enough, the infection can spread to your urinary organ, causing reproductive difficulties. You don't want that to happen. I highly recommend immediately sending all bottles of the coconut variant of A Night to End All Dawns to me to be quarantined indefinitely.

 

Put a bottle of coconut in the fridge for Thursday night. You know, for scientific research and all that.

 

Does Kane usually continue their Hop Lab Series throughout the winter or does it make way to Morning Bell and the stout and porter styles? I know the triple is a Hop Lab, but missing Hop Lab Citra, Hop Lab Wheat, and even the Azzacca already

 

I opened ANTEAD Coconut on Christmas Eve. It was pretty incredible. No carb issues. Everyone who tried it was really impressed.

 

My guess is that there will always be some sort of Hop Lab tapped, or at least up until St. Patrick's Day when Port Omna Variants take over. In any case, I believe Evening Bell, and Vengeful heart will be making their presence soon...February?

I think Morning Bell was around April?

Nice. Hope to pick some up this time. Was down there for the release this year, but didnt want to lug bottles with me while sampling so I decided to have a few drinks first. Then when I went to get bottles it sold out 2 people before me lol my luck

 

Glad to hear about Vengeful Heart. Such a great beer.

 

Probably my all time favorite barleywine. I just with they brewed more of it/more often.
