To quote myself from the thread about this in the New England forum.
Post comes off as rather sarcastic but I'm only partly joking.

That's when it's supposed to be released on draft (sept. 21). Bottles are supposed to hit Sept. 4, but like most founders releases a few distributors have released it a bit early

I don't know why they even have "beer seasons" anymore. Everyone just keeps moving them up. By the way things are going, we should have stouts and pumpkin beers cycled back and released at normal time in about 5 years.

You can, I walked out with a case for $40 from Total Wine in Alpharetta a month or two ago.

Where in NY? NYC/Long Island (and possibly Westchester) will get it rather quick and it will last for some time (i.e. they will keep getting it in), which is great

Another year, another Founders release out in every other state except it's home state. Hopefully it drops before Labor Day weekend camping.

It is kind of a joke. Yes, Founders should not distribute weeks before they want it on shelves....but distributers should honor their request and wait for the release date! All of these early releases should (and may be) reported to Founders so the allotment gets cut way down in those areas!

I haven't seen it in Atlanta, maybe a few random bottles are the less traveled stores. Looking forward to it this year as well.

I heard the newest state to get founders distribution is the first to get it shipped, and so on. Also, the distributers were never told to hold for a release date. Was just down in MA and its on tap and in stores everywhere and thats what they said too.

I swear I heard something very similar to that last year too.....

    Armageddon?

This stops as soon as Founders starts pulling beer from people who do it, but they never do or will so it will keep happening. Also go ahead and report them....they don't seem to care.

It honestly doesn't bother me as much with this as it does with there really limited stuff, but its still a bit of an issue.

Just grabbed 1/2 a case. There r stores all around Hartford that have gotten them in. Most have sold out, some r selling by the bottle with bottle limits, some don't know what it is and let you buy it all, and 1 store told me they have a few cases but are unable to sell until sept 1st. All stores that I've been to you have to ask for it in person, a phone call won't cut it this time.

    What it is?

Do some places really put bottle limits on the regular breakfast stout?
