Haha! I just might do that. It does seem like an appropriate time now doesn't it... I wonder why I didn't think of that?!? All the best ideas right in front of me and I just don't see them through the haze some days!

I'm fairly new to beer, but stouts are becoming one of my favorite styles. I'm about due for another beer run soon, thinking I might make a 6 pack of all stouts so this thread is a great source of ideas.

So far my top 2 favorites have been Southern Tier's 2X Stout, and Stone's Coffee Milk Stout.

That was a good suggestion! Certainly enjoyed that one when I got to try it.

Bell's Double Cream Stout should be a felony, and Dangerous Man Chocolate Milk Stout should launch the full prosecutorial powers of the FBI.

It's been awhile since I've had the regular Left Hand Milk Stout but I do remember enjoying it. Left Hand Bittersweet was good too but just thinking of a few of my favorite's that I've drank in the last couple months... probably...

4 Hands Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk Stout (Absence of Light)
    Stone Xocoveza
    Lakewood Temptress
    Tallgrass Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat
    Prairie Limo Tint

Only one of the style I've had so far is Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro, which I will definitely be drinking more of in the future.

Will need to try the non-nitro version at some point too -- they're the same beer, the only difference is nitrogen vs. regular carbonation, right?

As I understand it they carbonate the beer with a mix of nitrogen and carbon dioxide instead of just carbon dioxide. As they nitrogen releases (and it releases quicker than carbon dioxide) the smaller bubbles create a more creamy mouthfeel.

Considering that 8 Maids was priced wrong here at $6 for a 750ml at Binnys, It exceeded my expectations. It wasn't the grandest beer; but for that price for even at $10, it was a great buy.

One of the few milk stouts I've had is Tree House That's What She Said and it was definitely a good one!

Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. It's classified as a milk stout and is world class, imo.
