In CT, happy we now have Left Hand. I may be biased after visiting the brewery a little over a year ago. While there I had a flight of 5 different stouts. One of the best stout experiences I have had even though Founders Oatmeal Breakfast Stout is probably one of my favorite beers that I can regularly purchase (in season).
Sadly you can probably not purchase 5 LH stouts in CT to reproduce the experience I had.

One more time for SN Narwhal. One of the best out of all of the awesome stouts already mentioned. Two that are not so readily available, but are worthy of seeking out are Liquid Spiritual Delight by 2nd Shift and B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher by Hoppin Frog. Honorable mention goes to Joe Daddy by Pig Minds.

Otter Creek Couch Surfer should be easy for you to find. Its an oatmeal stout.

The Commodore from Ballast Point is another excellent stout

Now stick with me on this.....Insulated Ale from Brooklyn Brewery is a black lager, not a stout but if its a great dark beer youre looking for, thats it. The flavor profile of a stout, the body of a pilsner and it works so well.

2015 Black Gold by Central Waters. I thought that it was better than Black Tuesday, Assassin, SR-71 Black Bird, BCBS, BCBS rare, etc, etc.

Besides those listed, Belhaven makes a great stout. It is hard to find, though.

I wish BA had an unlike button, because I hope you're kidding . Stout's are my favorite style of beer, and I know Guinness is popular (not sure how popular among BA's), but I can't drink that chit.
