Found the 2015 on tap near me. It's harsher and boozier than last year's vintage, but tastes like it has more aging potential. It tastes like a beer that will taste absolutely incredible with a year or two on it. Hopefully it'll stick on shelves for as long as the 2014 did.

It really opens up as it warms, though, and a lot of the alcohol flavor dissapears. There's a lot more chocolate this year. Not as complex as last year's, but still better overall, and will likely keep better.

I was in a bottle store yesterday, and the guy offered me one saying they just came in. Being new to craft and unfamiliar with Abyss, I passed due to it being an expensive bomber. After researching it on my phone I went back and bought two, one to drink soon, and one to cellar for a year. These must not have unicorn in them like BCBS because I've since seen them on the shelf at multiple stores. Would be nice if they were in 12oz though.

Had a '13 recently and it has improved quite a bit, in my opinion. Love it and I am looking forward to locating some '15

I'd easily buy a few, it's a great beer. We don't get it here though.

Finally got two bottles of 2015 today although I have never had it before been trying to find it for a couple years always gone when I find out. Seems like there is quite a bit on the shelves though. I really want to try the other two variants this year though hope we get those.

It looks like this years Abyss has a substantially higher percentage of barrel aged beer in the blend, may be why some are liking it better. I know I was planning on passing on Abyss this year but at 50% BA ill pick up a couple bottles.

Hope this is the case. Have a bottle of '14 still sitting in my fridge that I was hoping would get better than the first bottle I had... very overrated beer.

Pretty sure that was meant as 2015 is drinking better fresh than 2014.

Has anyone tried all 3 variations yet? I'm super curious about what will come of the cognac barrel aged version.

I don't think the variants have actually been distributed yet. That being said, has anyone tried them at the brewery?

I had a '13 (a best by whatever date in 2014 date...) over the weekend and was completely and utterly blown away. The most epic bittersweet dark chocolate after taste and mouthfeel. Oak/whiskey flavor was superb, touch of vanilla. But I can't help but keep going back to this amazing high quality dark chocolate flavor/mouthfeel. Almost tannic bittersweet flavor. Probably a top 3 barrel aged dark beer I've ever had. Never had Abyss before, but a huge ISO for me right now!
