Yea the hate throws me off a bit, I've definitely enjoyed more from them than I've disliked from them. I actually just had their IPA in a can today and thought it was delicious.

I do not understand Ohioans giving so much more love to Hoof Hearted than JAFB. Hoof Hearted's beers are visually repulsive but taste pretty good. But so far they seem like a one trick (IPA) pony. Two tricks if you count the 3rd grade humor. Ohio has better up-and-comers to offer, like Rhinegeist and JAFB. And Bodhi in bottles could be a game-changer.

Another vote for Fonta Flora. Their size will keep them from "blowing up" this year, but the demand will be through the roof

I thought 3 Sons out of Florida would be the up and comer this year but things are still quiet with them. Maybe 2016 will be the year the hype reaches epic proportions if they can get their new place launched.

There beers are not any more visually repulsive than Treehouse beers and taste just as good, so I don't understand why a beers appearance makes a difference. As far as Rhinegiest goes I feel that they are already pretty established I can't speak for JAFB because I have not had any of there stuff.

I know Derek and I can promise you the best is yet to come. Good call.

My votes go to my local favorites. One just more than doubled capacity, and has three canning runs under their belt, Rushing Duck. And one just moved into a production facility to compliment their 7 barrel at the brew pub, and applied for label approval for a bunch of their beers, Mill House.

Just had burley oaks collaboration with dogfish Head over the weekend. Pants are cumbersome, which is a sour stout with beach plums. I thought it was excellent.

Grimm is solid but rarely exceptional; Noble Ale, Reubens, Lonerider (one I wish we could find in CA...they are doing so many things right in my opinion) are a few favorites that have the potential to be some of the best given that their beers are already exceptional.

Grimm is great. Their bottles fly off the shelves at my bottle shop, but I am able to try them on tap.

Hoof Hearted (Ohio) - Most people know of this one already... Offering Ohio some juicy IPA's, no longer requiring us to look at Tree House or other Vermont breweries for our fix of that particular style of IPA. While I wish they were a bit more versatile with other styles (although it sounds like that is coming soon with potential collaborations), they found a niche and are probably the biggest thing going in Ohio at the moment.

JAFB (Ohio) - Amazing variety that is not just IPA dominant, although they have a few damn good ones of those. Very well made beers. IMO, they are somewhat of the underdog of Ohio at the moment.

Ten10 (Orlando) - Really surprised by this new brewery for being so new... Great selection, well made beers. Bright future!

One more vote for fonta flora. Also think haw river farmhouse ales will have a big year as their sour program expands and starts to hit distro. Lastly, gotta give some local love to wilmington brewing company, they are making some killer hoppy beers and will begin kegging this year.

Gotta say Ocelot in Virginia. These guys are doing amazing work in the DC area and have some truly exceptional hoppy beers. Great brewery to visit as well.

In the DC area, I also think Union is poised to jump big this year. They have been around a bit but the offerings I had from them recently were just fantastic. Also, Right Proper has their new production brewery so we may start seeing more of their stuff around. They are really really great at what they do.

Up here in New England, Kent Falls is the one to watch. They are what OEC was a year ago. Proclamation is close but the consistency needs to improve. Someone specifically mentioned Tendril as being inconsistent but Derivative has that exact same issue.

Also, one of these days, people are going to realize that Beer'd is really really an amazing brewery..... but I am okay if that takes a little bit longer as I love the place as it is.

    Mark my words:

The minute they start canning 3rd Stone, OR the minute they brew a big, ridiculous BA imperial stout with coconut, vanilla, and whatever, is the minute Union explodes on the trade forums. They already have a great foundation with stuff like Double Duckpin and Old Pro, they just need that special kind of monster to snag the hype train in.

If any MD brewery explodes this year, it'll be Union. For better or worse!
