I'm pretty sure most are completely out of product. That said, good luck!

Not exactly. I would imagine if you call them and say "Hey this beer is infected" and they confirm your bottle was in the batch(es) that had issues, you're due some level of compensation.. Be that a refund or something else. Who knows what they'll do.

But if you call and say "Hey my batch of BCBW is infected" and they can show that batch wasn't, you won't be due anything.

That's fair I suppose. Fortunately I haven't cracked any of mine yet so I still have all my bottles/batch-numbers and that jazz. Hoping I missed any potential infections!

I didn't say it was first, I said "that is always ripe for cost cutting." Additionally, don't forget that cost cutting doesn't always involve actual slashing. Asking the same size QC department to handle an enormous increase in the number of bottles is another form of cost cutting. Admittedly, neither you nor I know what they are doing with QC at GI.

Then, by definition, it wouldn't be a "major" infection issue would it?

Then why bother making unfounded assumptions in the absence of any information?

BTW the word "first" I was quoting appeared in your "first major infection."

Major is a relative term. If I brew in a 5 barrel system and have most or all of an infected batch then "by definition" that is major issue for me. GI began as small as many others and has grown, so "major" changes size over time. For them to brew a 5 barrel batch and then dump it is hardly as major for them as it would be for me.

Excellent question, and a bit complicated too.

Some states do not allow returns to the beverage store for refund, others do.

Some breweries in the past have immediately responded and offered refunds to anyone who can prove ownership of beer. Others have denied any problems for a long long time and either given token redress or no redress, or replaced/refunded the beer. There is no law or rule governing this AFAIK, since there isn't a health threat from it, this beer is safe to drink.

I didn't make any assumptions. I simply pointed out the facts that
1.) The CEO is renown for cost cutting
2.) An infection is a Quality control issue
3.) Quality Control is an area that is always ripe for cost cutting.
The reader is free to make any assumptions that they want.

Yes it is. And you tried to attribute it to something else that I said, thereby trying to make it seem like I said something I didn't.

Had not heard about the issue with Short's up until now. For shame. Tbh, every brewery has issues with infection. Even HF has released infected brews.

    1) And I pointed out that the reports from inside GI indicate no cost cutting.
    2) Yes and lots of breweries have that QC issue.
    3) Having been on the inside of a major corporation I disagree.

No your words were "first major infection" and I asked how do we know it is the "first."

Apparently they had to dump a large portion of the Coffee stout. Additionally, a significant number of coffee and barley wine bottles were released that contain infected product. This qualifies as a major infection issue in any reasonable persons mind. If you have evidence of a previous infection issue at Bourbon County, I would be interested in seeing it.

Listen Brito is a suspect until he proves he was not involved.

Yes but you said it was the first major infection issue and I pointed out that when they first began at GI any infection issue would have been major and probably long forgotten.

I have no evidence of previous infection issue just as you have no evidence of direct or indirect cost cutting at GI being the cause of the infection. Both are speculation.

Lmao. Honestly though, the irony of this topic is outlandish.

In 2014 I bought a mixed 12 pack (their "pub pack" IIRC) to check out how their flagships tasted since being brewed in other facilities. The Honkers Ale was a weird mess so I emailed to let them know. I provided codes and bottling date and they sent me a check for $14.99 right away. I wasn’t expecting anything as the rest of the beers were fine, but I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service. Here's hoping they address any real issues with the Bourbon County line in a similar fashion.
