If this means six packs for $10-$12 or so I'll be buying a case, at least.

I agree, I will never understand the preference for 16oz cans over 12oz.

Hope these are in 12 packs this year.

16oz cans lasted a day by me..wasnt worth the effort, bottles were around a couple of months
rather just see 12oz cans and maybe even a 12pak

Well they do already have the packaging format to do 12 packs of cans on other beers

New Design looks like some kind of hipster health food brand.

Hipsters drink beer...plus I honestly don't understand why people care what the cans look like. Most of Troegs old labels were ugly as hell anyway.

Agreed, the old labels were pretty non stand out. Beer is becoming like wine. Those not really knowing much are buying by the label. Long run it's a good move by Troegs.

When you are trying to sell to new drinkers a good label will sell more. I guarantee the new v old when put in front of people not in the know will sell much more of the new.

I my mind Weyerbacher went from horrible to really bad. Troegs look like the marketing that's out and about. All the hipster, organic food references being tossed around are a good reason to say Troegs got it right. Those are the new and future beer buyers.

    Enjoy

Exactly, same reason why cans are becoming so popular now. Designs/preferences change.

Pretty sure 3 weeks makes no difference. This is not an IPA and even then 3 weeks will be fine.

    Enjoy

Yeah, last year I bought a case and probably drank it over the course of at least a month. It doesn't drop off fast.

Not to totally tackle this topic, but I've found Nugget Nectar to be fine 90 60sh days after package date. I would not hesitate buying it if i I saw it being 3 weeks old.

i wanna buy it in multiple formats. last year i saw 12oz bottle 6packs and either 12oz or 16oz cans in i think 4or6 packs (i honestly don't remember).

last year i only picked up 2 6packs and drank it over the course of a month. this year i'm getting the equivalent of a case, some bottles and a few packs of it in cans. love this stuff, i'm a huge amber/red ale fan so this hits my spot.

(While I reject the current geekery's belief that only IPAs are best consumed as fresh as possible  ...)

How does Nectar Nectar and its "93-ish IBUs" differ from a beer labeled "India Pale Ale" with similar stats?

The fresher the better, this is a hoppy beer. But as others have said, 3 weeks would be just fine. Last year, we had cans and bottles locally that only 5 days old. This is one of the few releases in which it pays to live in PA for.

I stopped by Troeg's today to sample a few scratch beers. Saw they were bottling Nugget Nectar when I walked back through the self guided tour area.
