Considering the price.. the complete meltdown of the online ticket sales, and lack of instructions and control by CCB during it, I'm surprised it sold out this fast.

I'm enjoying watching people beg to buy the extra bottles from the complainers in various places throughout the internet.

What other events are going on during the weekend? Cycle Brewing Barrel-Aged Day on the Friday before and 7venth Sun Presents Hunahpu's Hangover Day the day after?

I haven't seen ticket information for either...

Hoping Cycle does a BA day again. That was amazing last year.

It's still a little early (as in, there's not a single thing there right now) but check the events page of the Tampa Bay Beer Week website as we get closer. The calendar of events -- across the greater Tampa Bay area -- gets to be overwhelming.

    We're coming over from Lauderdale.
Last year we got in line around 10am and were a few hundred back, lol, good luck on enforcing no line before 10am.
If that's the case there will be a beard heavy 'Braveheart' style charge toward the main gates at 10am.

    Cheers!

The Cycle BA selection was one of the highlights of the week, they only had two left by the time we drove over, but well worth the stop!

That's how GABF was run in 2015. Tickets and ID checked on the way into the holding area so when the event opened it was just open the doors and let people in, in the order they lined up. I thought it went very smoothly (though GABF was run smoothly even before this new wrinkle).

Any idea on bottle count? Sorry if this has already been answered. Seems as though with how long the tickets were available and people being allowed to buy 8pp, the market is going to be flooded with Huna come March.

Think I saw someone somewhere say 3500 tickets? Assuming 20% of the tickets were 4pp tickets and 80% were 8pp (which I think is a decent guess considering the 4pp sold out quickly and the 8pp stuck around), that's just over 25k bottles. Plenty of assumptions made in there, but its probably somewhere around that. Plus whatever CCB holds back to do whatever they feel like with, though they've said they won't be selling them so those bottles won't hit the 'market'.

What day of the week did they do that last year? Was it the same week as Huna Day?

It was the day before Hunahpu Day.

Oooh, I forgot about those. Those were beer club members only right? Any idea of how many there were?

So in my completely non-scientific method that's approximately the same number of 4-pp tickets there were, so there'd be approximately 28k bottles of Huna out there.

At 750 mL / bottle, that works out to a little over 5500 gallons, or almost exactly 180 BBL. Sounds about right. Anyone know how big CCB's fermenters are? I have seen them in person, but I don't really have a sense of scale for industrial fermenters yet.

I think CCB has a number of 120 bbl tanks. But, all this math is based off of complete guesses and doesn't account for the fact that they will also need to have some Hunahpu available to keg (for both Hunahpu day and for other events)

How did the event work, ie: did they sell tickets and were they sold online? Was there a bottle sale as well? I'm coming in from Texas and would love to attend the event if they have one.

Cycle had a BA release each day of the week leading up to Huna Day. Some were on draft while 1 each day was bottled.
Here is the thread that details each days tap list / bottle:
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/cycle.265905/

They also held an event at Peg's on Friday which featured all of or most of the BA releases from the week along with other beers. Tickets were sold for this online and guaranteed a bottle of Friday.
Here is a thread that has more info on the event:
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/2015-barrel-aged-week-at-pegs-cantina-cycle.255547/

EDIT: this was all for 2015. No news or info on what their plans are for 2016. Could be similar, could be completely different this year. Follow them on FB/IG and keep an eye out here.
