Southern Tier 2XSMaSH

Will it be as good as Founder's Mosaic Promise? Let's hope so.

 

This beer is fantastic! I've already gone thru two 6pks ($11.59 each) over the course of the holidays and will probably pick up another tonight. So hoppy and clean. Far and away my favorite beer by Southern Tier.

 

Just found a six pack for $10.99 packed on 10 December. Chillin in my fridge right now.

This beer smells amazing but thats where it peaks. I could not drink this. Very astringent and there is a taste in there that just does not taste good. I was expecting this to taste like it smells but it does not. I took a few good sips but passed it on to someone else.

That's not skunk. That's the dank quality of the mosaic hops. You probably just don't like this hop variety. I do, however. I will say that this beer is lacking in mouth feel and hop concentration for a double ipa, but still pretty good considering I'm in Florida and there aren't many great choices for hops near me.

 

We used to get a lot more of their stuff in GA. I like them a lot for a "large" microbrewery

 

Thanks for clearing this up, different hops for different folks I guess. I thought mosaic hops were more citrus like, I guess not.
