Great, I just ask because I have been following this for a while and don't remember seeing one infected that had a time greater than 2000. Please report back, for science

But he's a professional brewer. Didn't you get that the first time?!

My 2158 foamed up the neck (did not overflow) but was delicious. Other five bottles were Pre-2000 and either gushed and/or were sour.

Good to know, I am only one person but it was odd to not see any pre-2000 as being infected. Weird that yours did gush but probably because you dropped it and shook it up beforehand?

Just opened a 2215 as requested earlier and it's absolutely delicious. No sourness. Just a pure coffee, chocolate, bourbon bomb of smoothness with bitter roast on the finish. The rest of my bottles are either 1800 or 1803 and I think there are 6 left. These have all been stored in a 34 degree refrigerator.

Man, if that is a pot shot at Goose Island that is just rude... I hope it isn't deliberate, but if it is, that just lacks any form of collegiate spirit with a fellow brewer... Not classy.

IMO BCBS and it variants will be plentiful and easy to get in 2016

I completely disagree. I don't think this changes a thing in overall sales. People waited overnight for this stuff and chased trucks all over. That's not changing.

Agreed. It is still selling out. It might just take an hour instead of 30 minutes...

I completely disagree with you , those folks who spent $100- $400 may rethink this in 2016 with their purchases , yes everyone will still want this and will wait in line but they will remember they will still purchase this brew and AB will ramp up even more in 2016 , just think it will be more plentiful without the dumps of BW and BCS this year, and i hope they change the bottle format

@gatornation Fair point that they had to dump a bunch this year so supply was more limited. I guess we will see, but I certainly don't expect to get more than a few bottles without effort.

In terms of the bottle are your referring to the nooks and crannies from the embossing? I doubt they are going to go back to 12oz bottles, but they might have to change how the bottle is made to make it smooth on the inside - assuming dirty bottles was the cause of course!

If they don't release at least a statement acknowledging that they probably screwed up within a day or so...i'll begin praying that every single one of their barrels, with and without beer, catch on fire and burn to a crispy crisp.

no BC nothing for anyone in 11 months

Dude, it is January 5th and this (and other forums) didn't have anything much before December 25th. There were less than 10 posts on here Christmas eve. Half their staff have probably been on holiday just like the rest of us and have only had a few days to look into all this. They still have to do lab samples (potentially cultures) and actually find evidence of the infection, determine how widespread it is, and hopefully, find the cause of the infection.

It doesn't do anyone any good to release a statement that reads:

"Hey we heard from a bunch of beer geeks that had bad bottles of BCBCS, but there are lots of others who said theirs was delicious. Something unintended may have gotten into a tiny bit, possibly some, but definitely not all our beer. We don't know what it is, nor do we know what bottles are affected, or if other variants are affected. But hey, totally our bad, we'll get back to you with details once we have looked into this"
Would that press release make you feel better?

Can someone confirm/deny that the numbers (i.e. 2202, 1805, etc.) are military time stamps, not batch numbers? I'm not sure if I missed the explanation on this.

Amazing how many are reporting multiple bottles of this beer. I have never seen it on the shelf - anywhere!

Actually that's a very good question. Could the bugs be from individual bottles and not the beer that went in? It would explain the random nature of this.

Absolutely it could. The new bottles are embossed, so there are nooks and crannies on the inside where the washing / bottle sterilizing process might have missed stuff. Also, the bottle caps can be a source of infection if there is something on them, so a bad batch of bottle caps might have been mixed in with good ones causing apparently random problems.
