I'm driving to Killington this weekend for a ski trip, does anyone have any recommendations on beer I should try when I'm up there or on the way? What I'm looking for is beer that's good, I can't get in NJ, and I don't have to wait in a line on some guy's farm hours away to get my hands on. It doesn't need to be rare or the best beer ever, just a nice change of pace for the trip.

    Thanks!

Table & Vine is a big store in Springfield, MA that may have distro you're not used to seeing. It would be a convenient stop.

Also if your going through Ludlow theres a decent store...cant remember the name right this minute...but they tend to get decent VT Beers.

What route are you taking? It looks like the fastest route from most points in Jersey stays mostly in New York, so you might want to look to that forum. If you come in from the West you can head up Rt 7 a bit and hit Foley Brothers ... their stuff might be pretty accessible in retail in that area, and you might not need to go all the way to the brewery.

If you decide to come through CT/ Mass you could stop at Bldg 8 in Northampton, and I'm sure people will tell you to hit NEBCO, though I lack experience in that department. That route would also warrant a stop at People's Pint in Greenfield, MA and Long Trail on Rt 4 just outside Killington.

Brewfest Beverage in Ludlow, a real good selection plus they fill growlers ...

If you're driving that far, just go to the extra change to Stowe, hit heady beer on the way. Win and win.

You should be able to find bottles of Foley Brothers. If you see Prospect, Pieces of 8, Fair Maiden, etc. they are worth buying. They tend to be around in bottle shops, no line waiting, far drives.
